Rumor: Killzone 3, inFAMOUS 2, Resistance 3 reveal at E3 photo

The latest issue of PlayStation: The Official Magazine has dropped a big fat rumorbomb for fans of AAA PS3 exclusives. Three huge sequels in Killzone 3, inFAMOUS 2 and Resistance 3 are allegedly set to be revealed this year, with announcements arriving at soon as E3.

None of these are surprising, especially considering each of those three games have already been hinted at from various sources and seem inevitable. Nevertheless, if Sony is planning a triple-whammy with these, they might have a very awesome press conference this year, which isn't something you can often say about the publisher.

Of course, I'm personally stoked for Killzone 3, but which of these three prospects tantalize you the most?

Killzone 3, InFamous 2, and Resistance 3 All to be Announced at E3? [1UP]

It would certainly make E3 quite interesting, apart from Resistance 3. Resistance 2 was quite disappointing really.

And their press conferences can only go up, well last year wasn't too bad at all.

Killzone 3: Meh
InFamous 2: Super Meh
Resistance 3: Infinite Meh

PS3, try harder, you're better than that.

New rule: Sony fanboys are no longer allowed to judge Mario/Zelda/Halo for having to many games. Look at the Sequels people.

I'm curious to see if inFAMOUS 2 will be any good since the first one was such a bitch to play.

I'm interested in Infamous 2. I want to see where the story will go after the twist ending.

Don't really care about KZ 3 and R3 since I haven't played their predecessors.

@GoldenGamer, not really. We're still waiting for MGS5, MGSKart and Uncharted 3-6. Oh and KillzoneBrawl.

Infamous was fucktastic personally so I can't wait to get my hands on the sequel. Also this reminds me I need to kill that motherfucker Radec.

I remember when people would talk big about Sony not having sequelitis and condemning any other first party under NIntendo and MS that did. And they'd go on in denial even as I pointed out the billion Jak and Ratchet games that were not only sequels, but got more boringly similar from one installment to the next.

Also makes me sad they'll spend millions to HD up God of War and not upgrading and expanding a classic like Ico.

@The Silent Protagonist, Sony isn't the only company which ignores cult hits and opt for the more commercially successful game. Also Team Ico is releasing The Last Guardian which seems like a spiritual successor to Ico.

So you don't want them to make sequels - but want them to re-release PS2 games instead?

Doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

As for these three games. Meh.

Give me Incredible Crisis 2 dammit!

@GoldenGamerXero - Wait... really? Two games get a follow up, one moves to a trilogy and that automatically negates anything even credible against some of the longest standing franchises in the industry?

inFamous 2!

Honestly tho, I'm more of an xbox fan but with a lineup like that Sony could take E3's "Most Interesting" prize.

Of course I'm sure we will finally see Natal games from MS. I bet the only thing that could overshadow SOME, but not all, of Sony's big day would be a Zelda reveal with actual gameplay in a trailer. Alas, we all know Nintendo's marketing stance is more like "Announcing the new Wii Zelda, which came out 1 week ago!"

I have played both Resistance 2 and Killzone 2, but I'm still not sure which setting is my favourite... Though I really do have a soft spot for Resistance 2's coop multiplayer. I hope they make big bunch of coop missions for the 3rd!

Neither of those announcements is a surprise, but the 2010 date is on some of them. Resistance 3 is kind of a given, but I am surprised for K2 and infamous 2 since they are last year games.

As a FPS and open-world game where you shoot lightning fan, this is good news to me. I didn't care for Killzone 2 all that much and I thought Resistance 2 was terrible, but I'm always willing to try out a new game where I get to kill motherfuckers.

Infamous interests me the most for sure. I found Resistance boring and generic but never bothered with Killzone. Infamous was an interesting game that still had plenty of problems that could be fixed in a sequel.

I'm most interested in Infamous 2, I loved the first but there a few things I wish they had improved upon. Both KZ2 and R2 had fantastic multiplayer but weaker single-player so I hope they can expand upon what they built already for the former and improve the latter. KZ3 should add co-op or at least a Spec-ops style mode.

Resistance 3 should go back to the style of the first game. They need to briing back the weapon wheel and the feeling that the game was set in the 50s instead of imitating COD. It would be cool if they added vehicles to the multiplayer and made it like a sci-fi Battlefield game set in the Resistance universe. It also needs to look more graphically consistent, R2 looked great in some areas but shoddy in others.

That was just a joke but with all the stupidity around here sometimes I don't blame you for taking it seriously.

Do we really want to see Nintendo overhype everything to the moon? I admit that some more advertising would be good but I prefer that they not set our expectations to high.

I'm most excited for Infamous 2 because the first one was fun, but left me hanging with a pointless sandbox game when the main storyline was finished.

Detecting a forced sequel that could have been covered in the first game, but whatever.

I can't wait for inFamous 2. It was easily the best comic book (yes, I know its an original IP) game I have ever played. I loved it all: the art design, visuals, sound design, beautifully minimalist soundtrack, great gameplay built perfectly around powers, and typically over the top narrative ending in a cliffhanger ripe in opportunities. Sucker Punch can do no wrong in my mind.

R2 kind of disappointed me. The campaign was really short and needed local co-op badly, graphically it was decent but everything felt very static iirc, the only things you could destroy were enemies and like barrels or something. It hurt the immersion and detracted from those big set pieces.

Online co-op was different though and the only thing that held my interest... if they expand on that shit then I'll re-enlist.

Killzone 2 is a functional if bland shooter, so I'm not really looking forward to Killzone 3, but I hope it does improve.

When I got a ps3 in mid-2009 Resistance was one of the first games I picked up. I absolutely hated it. Completely abysmal experience, so I haven't played the second and certainly wont play the third.

Infamous has good basic gameplay, but everything else is utter crap. Horrible characters, a stupid story, and the feature the game is based on is incredibly shallow. Obviously I'm not looking forward to it.

If we hear about a new game from thatgamecompany. That would make E3 for me.

resistance 3 = meh, keep the pew pew zap zap shooters on the kiddiebox 360
infamous 2 = meh, did not rate infamous myself, but i can understand the appeal.

Resistance was rubbish, resistance 2 was rubbish. Just not my thing i suppose.

I'm more excited for mag, modnation, god of war and heavy rain myself.

I thought Sony's conference was the best one last year. All about the games. Microsoft's was good, too. The games they showed were a bit underwhelming, though.
And well Nintendo...you know what? Let's just pretend they didn't attend E3 at all.

I just wish KZ and Resistance would get it on and have a love baby already. A game that plays great coupled with the artistic coherence of Killzone would be totally awesome.

They'd also get out of one another's space, multiplayer wise. I never really got why Sony would push two FPS online experiences within the span of a few months like last time.
