Rumor: Infinity Ward developing an MMO photo

Following on from today's rumor that Infinity Ward is working on a secret project and can't commit to Modern Warfare 3, some more gossip has found its way into our ears that might shed a little more light on the situation. According to our industry sources, Infinity Ward's new game will be an MMO.

We've gotten word that IW is hiring people from Sony Online Entertainment, one of which may be the lead designer of EverQuest II, and that a member of Blizzard employees may also be involved to help Infinity Ward get this new title off the ground. Our Intel seems to indicate that Call of Duty will continue as an annual franchise while IW runs this MMO alongside it.

It's not yet known if this MMO is based in the Call of Duty universe, although word of a CoD MMO has been floating around for a very long time. In any case, this is nothing but speculation at the moment, thought it's very interesting speculation indeed.

It's going to be the same as Modern Warfare online... only they'll make you pay monthly for it.

lol lead designer from which year of EQ2. That game has really been through too many lead designers over the years.

I wish them all the best of luck and hope to see a great MMO come out from IW, hopefully NOT fantasy based.

It would kind of make sense, with the way you get exp. and level up in COD games. It would stand to reason they could change the multiplayer aspects of it into a MMO

This will [hopefully] be good.

Also, Call of Duty does not need to be an annual franchise. Quantity ruins games, Activision. Did you learn nothing from Guitar Hero!?

There is a big difference between developing free online gameplay and developing for a monthly service based online game. IW certainly can find the resources to technically do a CoD based MMO world, but I for one have sworn off ALL monthly fee based games. The only one I would even consider at this point is the Old Republic one Bioware is working on and it's gonna have to be the all out greatest Star Wars game ever to make me do much more than consier.

Id hope that theyd recognize the many problems in Modern Warfare 2 and fix it, but it looks like they are just digging themselves deeper and deeper into a hole of suck. These guys are a bunch of clowns, all of them, IW and activision and sledgehammer, i wont be buying any of their games again.

According to the developer, tracks by 70-431 testking Jonathan Coulton and Billy Idol (as well as some Finnish death metal) will be among the tracks that are slated to appear on the Rock Band Network. Additionally, the Wall Street Journal is reporting that multi-platinum artists Creed and Evanescence 70-432 will also have music on the service. Indie label Sub Pop's plans are also made a bit more clear -- expect music from The Shins, Flight of the Conchords, Mudhoney, Sleater-Kinney, and The Postal Service.

Harmonix says that 70-448 testking the actual Rock Band Network Store won't be live "until we accrue a good base of content, though we're already really excited by what we have in the pipeline." Track prices will range from $1 to $3, 70-528 latest dumps set by the bands and track authors.
