Still, I like Enslaved a whole lot more and would rather they did that.
But I guess they want to distance it from GOW.
Wonder if Ninja Theory is actually making it.
I still need to beat the first game, I never played or bought it.
Still... considering how it ended and all... how do you make another? I'd be curious to see who's next that controls the sword. That might just be the weirdest part of the story... the MC isn't any character, but the sword itself.
One thing though, I'd really like the game to have more then just a single plotline. Like, each area in the game could have three or four mostly unrelated storylines as well as the assorted open world fun. It would make the game into a compilation of short stories, rather then one overarching epic novel, but I think that would be for the best as it would allow for the exploration of different settings and different situations, without making the game's story strictly linear.
Enslaved was a step in the right direction, but that game was unpolished as hell.
Honestly, my main gripes with the game (Heavenly Sword) was the short length, the tacked-on SIXAXIS segments, and some minor combat issues.
The story and characters were great, and the gameplay was enjoyable. Ninja Theory clearly know what they're doing, but they need to improve on it.
They make good stories based around shitty games. Which is okay if you don't watch TV or movies or read or do anything else that can present you with a good story without having to tack the "shitty game" portion on top.
Anybody who's about to jump on me for this, ask yourself a single question: If any of the Ninja Theory games you like had a crappy story, how impressed with the game would you be then?
A big part ofthe game's appeal was its narrative and visual set pieces, so I wonder how those elements - both of which are generally hard to pull off in open-world games - will transition over.
Enslaved was a mostly great game hampered by a bad camera and a bad ending. But still well worth playing.
"I would want to watch it. I don't know if I would want to play though."
That's how I feel about most games like this (especially God of War). I don't have fun hacking and slashing and QTE-ing, but I do enjoy watching others play.
...Anything from Ninja Theory sounds good to me, Enslaved was an incredibly fun game!
