The Gears story ended. There's really no place for the story to go but backwards. As for this rumor, I'd be okay with it. The Gears story is only okay. They did not do enough in Gears 3 for me to stay engaged.

Um...no. I do not want this at all. While I'll all for a single prequel and People Can Fly making games, why does everything need to be a trilogy? Just make a solid game and forget about expanding it before recognition.

I would be for this. People Can Fly did a great job with Bulletstorm and I really liked the Gears universe. Bring it on I say.
I don't think we should ask for an entire trilogy; don't count your chickens before they hatch and all. But there were definitely themes that were presented and never properly explored in Gears 3. I would like to see them again.
Oh, and Bulletstorm 2 would definitely be nice.

Was it ever in doubt that there’d be more Gears? I’m pretty sure Cliffy B himself has gone on record saying they could go on forever like Bond movies, and something along the lines of “why not Gears of War 8?” or something like that.

I adore gears of war, but at this point, it's just too much. There's NO reason to make another trilogy, let alone a prequel trilogy. I say make the most of GoW3 by adding new content and lay the series to rest. The story is over. We don't need to see what happened during the pendulum wars or e-day, we've been told just about everything we needed to know.

In a world where modern warfare 7 (or whatever, do they even care about numbering?), can exist, there is easily more room for gears.
I'm of the vocal minority (on Dtoid anyways) that would rather not see more Bulletstorm. More Gears though? I'm cool with that.
How far back could they go? I know there are some novels and comics and what not but wasn't the first Gears game set close to the emergence of the locust?
There's going to be a new Halo trilogy, why not have a Gears one too. The udders of the Xbox exclusives must be sore by now.

I am down with this. People Can Fly have shown that they can make a brotastic shooter and make it fun and humorous. I couldn't think of any company other than Epic that could make a Gears game.

People Can Fly can do it, I trust those guys. But Bulletstorm 2 is the real news here, that's a world I want to see A LOT more of.
Best people for the job if you ask me. PCF handled the gears 1 pc port so they clearly know the game mechanics well.

I definitely think if pulled off properly would be fantastic. Especially being a huge fan of the whole Pendulum wars deal. Would be interesting to see how far back they would go. I would like to see one game that maybe sets up for another sequel to it. Defintely don't want to hear trilogy talks if PCF don't pull the game off properly. I also agree, Bulletstorm 2 needs to happen. While my main thoughts was for the Beta, I enjoyed the shit out of the single player. The MP you could have kept.
