The rumor mill never takes a day off. Today we've got a juicy one from the latest issue of Official Xbox Magazine. They say that the Gears of War franchise could live on through some prequel games, and that Bulletstorm developer People Can Fly. They're feeling good enough about this tidbit to say that we could be seeing a trilogy.
CVG reminds us that next' month's DLC for Gears of War 3 treads in prequel territory. Could Epic be testing the waters for a full-blown set of prequel games?
Would you even want a set of prequel games?

The Gears story ended. There's really no place for the story to go but backwards. As for this rumor, I'd be okay with it. The Gears story is only okay. They did not do enough in Gears 3 for me to stay engaged.
Just make sure it doesn't suck.
I wholeheartedly support your crazy idea. Bulletstorm was fantastic, and I won't hear otherwise, dammit.

At the end of the day, we're getting more of what we love, how is this ANYTHING but a good thing?
E-Day and the events that ensued? More interesting.
I adore gears of war, but at this point, it's just too much. There's NO reason to make another trilogy, let alone a prequel trilogy. I say make the most of GoW3 by adding new content and lay the series to rest. The story is over. We don't need to see what happened during the pendulum wars or e-day, we've been told just about everything we needed to know.
There would be others who would like to have it though, I'm tired/not interested in the Epic Games company/publishers for some reason.
