It's a giant worm! Gears of War 3 is being developed by a GIANT WORM! Oh, and Epic Games, who are allegedly planning to release the next installment of the glitch-friendly shooter in April of next year. According to Edge, the game's first teaser trailer is expected to debut next month on April 8. We're sure GTTV has already acquired exclusive rights to that.
According to those classic "anonymous sources," the game could be finished by this year, but Microsoft is keen to put some space between it and the imminent Halo: Reach, not to mention the Project Natal overloard that is sure to ruin Christmas for everyone.
So, more Gears of War 3. Sounds good to me.

Oh, and it doesn't have nearly as many issues online as it used to - patches are a wonderful thing. Still get some Lag every now and then, though.

Also I'm actually interested in the story, surprisingly, even if it is kinda stupid.
I wonder why so many people mock and write off the Gears series, when it does so much amazing stuff, and not many games can live up to it. In my opinion, only Uncharted 2 with the falling hotel building and the whole train level was able to amaze me in the same way (and that was released a full year later).

Even games that have betas still have glitches after the full, finished product is released.
Of course, if the 3rd game is also trash, I'll watch from the sidelines as Epic stays quiet for months banning thousands from their forums that complain about any glitches in their game, like the one that eat your story/achievement progress and the like. I, for one, can not wait for this one. The fact that they are going to show a trailer a year before the projected launch is just cruel though.

Although, as things are going, this generation could actually end being close to 10 years long, which is unprecedented (Nes-SNES was only 8 years, I think).... So I think we will be seeig a lot of sequels before another generation rolls out.
No, it's not because that stupid "10-year lifecycle foresight" from Sony, that was a lame excuse for the poor sales of the first years (If we learned something, is that they lack a lot of foresight). Almost nobody would survive another console jump in this economy, and I'm not talking about the consumers, but the developers, the publishers, and even the console makers themselves. They're only getting the handle of this tech just now, and the cost of making games is already prohibitive with current gen production values.
That's why they are so eager to sell scale add-ons and pink dildos for the current consoles, rather than coming out with the new ones.
As a fan of the game I still prefer the first Gears over the second and hearing this I'm not sure if I should be excited or..blehh about it =/
