Good on Gamestop for helping to get this out there if true, I'll preorder the second it happens, if and when this is a thing.
More people are starting to confirm seeing it in their Gamestop computer systems.
The only reason I'm still extremely skeptical is because April is only 4 months away. That's an extremely short time to go from rumor to release, especially if they hope to actually sell enough to prove the demand true. Fucking announce it officially and market the shit out of it.

I could seriously see this happening, especially since Nintendos announcement yesterday that it plans on continuing support for the wii and ds... it would make perfect sense and make a lot of gamers happy.... I know it would keep me from selling my wii after I'm done with skyward sword...

If I remember correctly Xenoblade was already localized for the Euro version, so going from rumor to release in 4 months doesnt seem that out there if most of the work is already done.

I'm with tristix..with region lock, who is localizing this thing..though all that needs done is making the damn thing playable since the real localizing is already done
@JQM - As I understand it, its in the vein of FFXII, but you control the hero directly and he has these moments of foresight where he can see the future of an enemy's actions and try to work around it.
Well, I suppose this is better than nothing, but why does it have to be GameStop? I really wish I could stop going to that chain.
YAY! and damn... looks like I'll have my first pre-order with Gamestop. As a 46 y.o. gamer, I have avoided their pre-order evils all this time, and now they have finally found a way to break my will. Damn you Gamestop, I will have that game new, and shrink wrapped!

I'm not referring so much to the localization process itself, but the fact that 4 months doesn't seem like enough time to promote and advertise the game. If it's true, why hasn't it been announced yet? I worry that Nintendo might deliberately be setting it up to fail like this just to tell us "we told you so".

This blows on all sorts of levels... Nintendo should sell it direct. I don't want to give LameStop any of my money... but I want this game. Torn.
If this turns out to be true, I don't think rainfall or gamestop should be given credit as I'm quite certain this was Nintendo's intent all along: to have timed exclusivity in regions that charge more for games and consoles to keep people from importing on the cheap.
What a shame Nintendo of America were being such assholes about it, cause I already pirated it and beat it.

At this point I don't even CARE about this freaking game I just want a good Wii game that's NOT Mario, Zelda, or Kirby related.
whats with all the clamoring for this game about? why is it so important to have it translated and sold in the US? is it the best game ever or something?

If my answer is the actual reason, it would explain why they didn't announce anything for America. Doing so would have cut into eu sales as many European gamers have American Nintendos for that very reason.

Overall though, it would be awesome to see these games come over if they are as good as many have said.

It's a high-profile JRPG. The kind of core title a software-starved system like the Wii needs.

Why do people think it means it would be sold exclusively through Gamestop? Maybe it's just an exclusive bonus where you get a roll of toilet paper with Reggies face on it?

I don't know how much stock you put into Metacritic (I'm not a huge fan myself), but it's got an average score of 92 over there. All the reviews I've read have had nothing but really positive things to say about it.
Some excellent UK-based game magazines have given it huge scores. 90 from Edge and games(tm), quite a few outlets claiming it's the best JRPG of this generation; it's getting a lot of praise.
Anyway, I hope for the sake of those who really want it that it does see a US release. It's certainly making waves over here. I'll be sure to pick it up after I finish Skyward Sword (no faffing around necessary, seeing as I live in England.)

I already imported it and bought another wii to hack it so I could play it.

I dislike GS used game system myself(although I have no problem with used games, gs rates are just bad), but I've realized something:
If used games were to cheap, then it would be much more difficult for them to sell out their new stock.
Of course, there are other reasons to dislike gs. Like how some employees steal/give away preorder goodies.

Yeah, Gamestop isn't the most cuddly retailer around, but they are hellspawn either. I hear they don't make so much money on new sales and have to make the difference on used copies and magazine subcriptions.

My modded my Wii and imported Xenoblade from Europe. It's really good! And I will stand by my word and purchase a localized copy day one to show my support. Not sure what I'll do with the second copy, but I don't really care.
Gamecock is horrible, but so is everywhere else. So what. If this game becomes available (like I already announced yesterday) in 2012, I'd buy it off an illegal alien at Home Depot, and there's nothing worse than giving money to those losers!!!

All this could have been avoided if they wouldn't have developed it for the Wii in the first place. They should have went PS3 and 360. It surely would have been widely available and it's sales increaseed ten times over.

Yeah I had almost forgotten about the occasional issues with pre-order goodies going missing and that they will often sell what in my opinion would be USED games (Opened in store if not taken home by employees and played) as NEW product.
