Rumor: Full Guitar Hero III set list rocks the Internet

Rumor: Full Guitar Hero III set list rocks the Internet photo
     Activision

A list of songs, purported to be the complete and final Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock set list, has hit the Internet. The list contained a number of "unannounced" songs, including tracks by Sonic Youth, the Dead Kennedys, and more. The songs were listed in tiered order, and also included all of the boss battle, encore, and co-op encore tracks.

The list (which originally appeared on the ScoreHero forums) quickly disappeared, and was later called out as a hoax by ScoreHero mods. However, a poster over at Xbox360Forum.com wins the Internet Matlock award for Sunday, September 16. It appears someone's been playing a little Guitar Hero III on their Xbox 360, revealing a number of new tracks, all of which also appeared on this "fake" list. Is that fake, too? The plot! It thickens!

In any case, hit the jump for the full "fake" set list, which also includes White Zombie's "Black Sunshine," a song that has one of the most killer (yet simple) riffs in 90s metal. How metal would that be?

Why are there 8 tiers and only 3 boss battles? More would be better. One at the end of each tier would be ideal.

So certain songs you can only play on co-op or what? I can't wait to hear the first verse of Holiday in Cambodia. It'll probably just be the second verse, ala Rock the 80's Los Angeles' "Started to hate ever Nigger and Jew. Every Mexican that gave her a lotta shit. Every homosexual and the idle rich."

Proof that it's incomplete

"She Builds Quick Machines" by Velvet Reveolver has been confirmed

I really love the songs so far in GH3 but I hate how when you miss a note you still hear the song with everything but a bit muted. I won't stand that so i probably won't buy it. Sadly :(

The list is real, but incomplete. This is from when the folks at Scorehero went back in July. It was about 3/4 done then. The lack of Velvet Revolver and Atreyu is proof of this.

Sunshine. Of. Your. Love.

Fuck yes. This'll be in constant rotation with "Paint it Black" and "One".

My one complaint is..

NO DETHKLOK.

But the awesomeness of that list makes up for it.

Good thing that Dragonforce isn't in the regular set-list, because some people might not finish the game.

So I'm hearing that the list is when the game was 70% complete. Thats awesome, because I can't wait to play "My Curse" by Killswitch Engage. That and "Before I Forget." I'm definitely getting this game.

@ acvhero

Slash said it would either be "Get out the door" or "let it roll"

Maybe the charts weren't done yet when this guy wrote down the list.

And the lack of Zeppelin and AC/DC is very disappointing.

Wow In Flames got on here? Too bad they didn't choose one of their better sings. Slayer's Raining Blood hands down is the best song out of this list. White Zombie's Black Sunshine is good as well. Too bad there ain't any death or black metal in guitar hero.

That would be a hot list - bonus tracks, too. But does that Co-op Encore thing mean that one will not ever be able to play those songs in single player mode?

Slipknot = win.

One = epic win.

It's going to be worth playing through all those other lame songs to get to those tiers filled with metally goodness.
