The latest issue of Official PlayStation Magazine hints that the next Dead or Alive game won't be exclusive to the Xbox 360 anymore. The rumor section of the mag states that "Tecmo's next big-bosomed fighter, Dead Or Alive 5, is in production for PS3."
If this is true, then it's about time the series went multiplatform. It's not surprising either that Tecmo would do this, seeing as how the Ninja Gaiden games were exclusively first for the Xbox 360 and later released for the PlayStation 3. I wonder if we'll see any kind of connectivity between this and the new Dead or Alive Paradise for the PSP that's also in the works. If that happens, I'm sure the PS3 version will be vastly superior than the Xbox 360 version, simply for the fact that you just know you'll be able to import the bikinis from Paradise into DoA 5.

Hamza Aziz, Destructoid's Community Director, has been here since day one. He was born when a tiger coughed up a hairball into a pool of ooze. He was one of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles before budget cuts. Hamza works as a previews editor and manages a team in San Francisco. To date he has given away tens of thousands of dollars in prizes to readers. What a dick. Actually, Hamza is as kind as he is hairy.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
2. Don't care what system its on, I'm just glad Dead or Alive 5 has been mentioned
on that note....this is probably the first time I can say I'd look at Christie over Ayane...
A song comes on that reminds me of you and i jizz in my pants.
JIZZ IN MY PANTS
Nope, Arcade first. Then NES.
IMO, the NES games were very inferior to the original arcade.
No?
Also, cocks.

In my humble opinion it was Itagaki who held the series back. Yes he did have a lot of say in the series. Now was that a good thing? Hmmm....

Anyway, I think we all saw this coming. I know I did. Now I'm just hoping for a collector's edition that includes a remastered DoA4 - maybe call it DoA Sigma 4.
The original Dead or Alive was also multiplatform, being on the PlayStation and Saturn. So, yeah, it is more like it is returning to multiplatform-ness.
Cosplay is awesome.
Please to observe "Christie's" web page that has lots of her Boobs and Cosplay.
Her name's Yaya Han, and the site's [url=http://www.angelicstar.net/]AngelicStar[url].
Boobs.
Let's try that again. AngelicStar
Announcement of DoA 5 - not so much.
Nice for button-mashing fans, though.
This is probably the sixth or seventh rumour since DOA4 that I've heard about DOA5. So far there's not been a shred of evidence that the game is even going to be made at all and in fact lots of quotes from Team Ninja and Tecmo staff saying it won't be. Until we get actual screenshots, publisher listing and/or a hard release date, I'm not believing a word of it. I've no problem with DOA5 being on the PS3 (I started out with DOA1 and 2 on the PSX and PS2 respectively and the PS pads have always been better for fighting games, so it'll be a welcomed return), but I just plain don't think it's going to happen, at least not in the sense of the fighting games that the series is known for.
(Yaya is indeed a great cosplayer. But she made a better Lei-Fang than she does Christie. Short Chinese woman being a tall albino caucasian? Doesn't work for me. Her Lei-Fang was more appropriate and also plain more impressive when you saw the detail up-close)
Seriously...the response to games like this and Bayonetta make me sad. It's such a shame that so many of you don't get laid. You're in my thoughts and prayers.
Graphically, sure; but aside from that....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Or maybe some of us just like fighting and action games? Don't lump everyone into your dumb little categories.
Read their comments before you reply. Sometimes it's not worth it.
I usually have no problem ignoring that kind of idiocy, but that comment was too stupid, even for the Internet.
silly person, Tekken and the Soul series started off on Sony systems.
can't even talk about arcade here. straight up console talk on these parts.
I think he did read the comment. If I wasn't so convinced that that guy was some random troll, I would have said the same thing.
You're my favorite person on Destructoid right now.
Complaining about sexy women in video games... that starts from insane and only moves forward. Yeah, yeah, it can lead chicks to have body issues. Only if you take that shit too seriously and buy into the notion that's everything that men want. When you do that, you do go crazy and its usually your fault.
in b4 DURR HURR ITAGAKI JUST MAKES TEH BOOBIES SHAKE
My 'excitement' (more like, "Oh hey, how about that.") has little to do with the jubblies and a lot more to do with the fact that I'm so desperate for fighting games that I'm actually starting to entertain the thought of playing a 3D fighter.
You wouldn't catch me dead on a Tekken or DoA game last gen, but considering the only 2D fighters I have to look forward to are SF4 1.5 and BlazBlue 1.2, I kinda have to take what I can get.
Tekken is still better!
DAME YOUUUUUU!!!!! *shakes fist in the air*
DoA is nice for a few quick matches with friends that dont own that game.. or if u dont play on a regular base.
Sorry, I couldn't help it. I am weak-willed!
