Rumor: Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King release date/price photo
     wii

After seeing screen after gorgeous screenshot of the fabled Wiiware title Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King, we may finally have a day to mark on our calendars. I say may because the source of this news mentions they were informed by "a Square representative" of the release date and price, but the Square website still says "coming soon" in regards to the game's release date.

If it is true, the game will coincide with the launch of Wiiware itself on May 12th and retail for 1,500 Wii points. As much as I am excited about the game, I'm actually more excited about seeing Wiiware finally debut and what may come along with it. I've seen multiple game concepts for it that all left me more excited than I have felt about Wii in a while, and I would love to see what this service can possibly do.

Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a Queen is more like it.

Am I right people?

I liked crystal chronicles.

Boring solo, but epic in a 4-6 person setting. Yes we all had GBAs and sprung for connector cables.

The spell casting required timing and elegance that we just didn't have. Still fun. Do you know how hard it is to cast life 2 or haste 2? pretty fricken hard!

And the secret missions! oh the treachery!

I hope this game is just as good as chronicles

I have to agree with Blindside here.

No, Klytus, I don't think so.

Also, 1500 Wiipoints? Sounds good to me! WiiWare, here I come!

This is all well and good. Although I'm more curious to know the actual size of the game, like how much space is this going to take up on my Wii because its already full from VC titles. Did this information leak out anywhere?

15 bucks is a lot of money for a game I can't demo...me thinks we need a DToid group review.

I wonder if it is going to be as good as the gamecube one.
Its so odd to play these cause they are really different from the standard FF stuff.

WiiWare is pretty much the only thing that has my interest as far as the Wii goes. I just can't get excited about yet another Mario Kart or Smash Bros. and those two games are pretty much all Nintendo has confirmed for the entire year.

I've been looking forward to Eternity's Child however, since back when it was a XBLA title. WiiWare has the potential to be very cool.

I've been saying for years that Nintendo should do sequels to it's old classics. Like direct sequels to SMB2 or 3. Games that would play pretty much the same but feature new levels. That's what the Super Mario Advance series was originally intended to be before Nintendo decided it'd be easier to just port the originals rather than make new games.

A new 2D Zelda game in the vein of Zelda II. A new sidescrolling Kid Icarus game. Stuff like that would be perfect for WiiWare. I'd pay $15-$20 for those without question.

@Skullivan: In a lot of franchises' cases, that's what the GBA/DS have been for. But I agree it would be nice to see something like a new Kid Icarus in 2d.

I am looking forward to see how things turn out. WiiWare looks prosperous.
