An employee of Best Buy sent Kotaku this artwork for Assassin's Creed III, which suggests that we'll be playing as a Native American character come this October. And, going a step further, that this game will at least partially revolve around the American Revolution.

It sounds like Ubisoft has an announcement planned for March 5, so it shouldn't be long until we hear what's what from the powers that be. While a slower release schedule for the series wouldn't have hurt my feelings, the possibilities for the narrative here are exciting, and I'm not generally the patient type.

A large part of the fun for Assassin's Creed is finding clues left behind by the developers and trying to see the whole picture, especially when it comes to guessing what the next setting will be.
