GoNintendo has acquired images of marketing slides which supposedly outline a couple of future Wii titles. One of these is a exercise game which simulates cycling using a special peripheral. In addition to the description of gameplay above, the rest of the page boasts that the game will feature over sixty game modes. The pedal features three levels of resistance to accomodate different exercise levels. There's no information on whether the game is being published by Nintendo or a third-party.
The second slide which has surfaced has information on the successor to Wii Fit. The new exercise game will be sold for $29.99 in a disc-only edition or $99.99 for a bundle with the balance board. Apart from that, the remaining information only serves to reinforce the game's Wii Fit + title, as it sounds like the same game with a new coat of paint.
It may not be true, but the presentation looks professional enough that I'd be willing to believe it. And I think I'd probably try the cycling it if I had some more concrete data on its effectiveness. I rather like cycling as an exercise but I'm never comfortable exercising in public. This could be a worthwhile investment.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
So two or three games or systems make good use of one or two peripherals. Great. No stop!
Not all of us live in florida. It does get cold and shitty for 3-4 months out of the year. If they bring this game out during late fall/early summer I can see it being halfway successful. Regardless, I hate stationary bikes so DO NOT WANT!
Maybe there's a reason people can't/won't leave the house. Maybe they're babysitting? Maybe their bike is broken? Maybe it's cheaper to buy one item (this peripherial) instead of one bike for each person in the household? Maybe it's snowing outside. Maybe not every single person in the world has the exact same fucking life as you do.
Seriously, what is wrong with people? Why freak out just because Nintendo wants to release an item. Do you have any idea how many exercise bikes you can find in all of the homes in America? Are you pretending there's not a market for a device like this?
There's no chance I'm buying this, but that doesn't mean I have to stop using my head.
I guess that I won't bother mentioning the dramatic increase in arm, chest, abdomenal, and leg strength I've gotten thanks to Wii Fit, not to mention the two inches I've lost around my waistline without actually losing pounds. (Muscles weigh more than fat, but I guess that's just pro-Wii rubbish, too.)
**sigh**
You are in the GRAND minority there, chief.
You're taking the defensive on every Wii issue, it seems, because you saw success using a "game" that literally does nothing but tell you to do exercises that you could have easily done without the game.
In fact, if you do a little web research, you will undoubtedly find better, more efficient exercises than those offered in Wii Fit.
Jared lost hundreds of pounds eating Subway foods. That doesn't change the fact that he could have eaten home-made food for less money and lost weight faster and more efficiently.
sad thing is that it will prob sell millions. adding to the downfall of gaming, hehe.

No, I'm fed up with the completely immature stance that most D-toiders take against the Wii or anything involving it because ZOMG!!! It doesn't have, like, super-cool graphics, and, like, it can't do HD, because, you know, games are all about the graphics! And it's just, OMG, a fucking gimmick! A total gimmick! We, like, spend how many hours, you know, sitting around playing games, that, like, you know, do nothing but make us sit on our asses. But here, like, comes the Wii that actually can make people do some, like, exercize, but it can't work because it's, like, a fucking gimmick!
Whatever.
And at what point did I say that Wii Fit was better than proper diet and exercise? Oh, sorry, you decided to make it seems like I was implying that just to make an argument. My bad.
WOW.
You are one of the most defensive people I've ever seen.
You're so eager to take these jabs as assaults directly against YOU that you're defending your remarks against things I didn't even say!
"And at what point did I say that Wii Fit was better than proper diet and exercise? Oh, sorry, you decided to make it seems like I was implying that just to make an argument. My bad."
You might want to ask yourself, 'at what point did DinnertimeNinja accuse me of saying that?' Because the answer would be that I didn't.
You said you saw results from using WiiFit, which is fine. I said you could see better results for free without WiiFit. End of argument.
You're really making yourself look paranoid now.
In the end, all WiiFit is is another type of pay diet/exercise program. Some will see results in using it, but most won't.
Just like any other diet/exercise program.
Fact is, ANYONE can lose weight and get in better shape ON THEIR OWN at home with a little discipline. If someone's not truly devoted to changing (however little they may have to), then regardless of the program they choose, they probably won't change.
And the same goes for quitting smoking, drinking less, etc. If you really want it, you'll make it happen regardless of how difficult it is.
