Why would Nintendo release The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D in small batches? It makes no sense to me, but that's what Japanese blog Sinobi says is happening. They've heard that Nintendo is shipping less than 150,000 at launch. Andriasang says that one guess was that Nintendo wanted to ship small to avoid bargain bin placement for their title. I saw Zelda: Spirit Tracks in bargain bins for awhile in Tokyo, so maybe there's something to this.
The same blog says that pre-orders have exploded following these reports of small shipments. I just checked Amazon Japan's Bestsellers list for gaming and this game's pre-order item is now #1 on that list.
Hopefully Nintendo isn't doing anything this fishy.

All I know is I'm up in Canada and I just paid off my preorder.
Anyway, Ima be paying of my reserve in full, so I'm not too worried.
I don't think this is going to affect orders in the United States anyways.....
we love action-rpgs.
Also, they were pretty funny.
I don't know why, but I laughed at your second comment.
Although Minish Cap had a very small release in the US too. And more than likely almost none of you have played it, which is a shame because it's one of the best titles in the series. But it's because none of you bought it that they never reprinted.
I bought Minish Cap!
Why did it do so bad, is there a real reason?
I would actually be willing to bet that Nintendo saw that Minish Cap sold poorly and that was how they decided to not bring Mother 3 to the US because that came out even after Minish Cap. If they couldn't sell one of their biggest franchises on the GBA after the DS came out, what hope would Mother 3 have had?
But basically, despite backwards compatibility, people had already abandoned new GBA games the moment the DS came out.
Who didn't like Minish Cap?? I loved that game! In fact I'd put it as one of my favourite Zelda games!
Oh yeah, the awesome Zelda/MGS title that rivals with the home console games.
Phantom Hourglass/Spirit Tracks/Peace Walker...
Oh yeah, that fun Zelda/MGS title that is far too easy to amuse me, but still looks and has great controls.
Notice something :D?
..Oh wait.. It suddenly became popular, which we totally didn't expect.. Heres another 150,000. But, this time we WON'T be making any more...
..Oh wait.. GO TO 10
"Because the press were able to appreciate Spirit Tracks for its puzzles and not just bash on it because "lol links on a train how gey". "
Except the puzzles weren't even that great. They were better than Phantom Hourglass, which I thought was also awful, but compared to just about any other game in the series they were a joke. The DS Zelda's just felt bland, empty, and uninspired. Which is a shame because the other handheld Zelda's were so fantastic.
