Ruffian Games' concept art doesn't exactly scream 'Crackdown' photo

Either that stout-looking monster above is concept artwork for a new IP from Ruffian Games, or the sequel to Crackdown has suddenly taken a turn for the bizarre.

The creature comes to us from a Ruffian job advertisement calling for everything from animators to AI engineers all the way to team-based multiplayer designers. If you live anywhere near Dundee, Scottland, you may want to do yourself a favor and check the career openings page.

Like I alluded to earlier, I still believe it's too early to tell if this ad has anything to do with Crackdown 2 or not -- it would be purely speculation to say either way at this point. But you know what would be nice? If Ruffian or Realtime Worlds would come out already and say if they are or aren't working on a Crackdown project. Have we not suffered long enough, guys?

I'm studying Computer Games in Dundee here, so it's reassuring to see another local games company pop up :)

I'd love to see some demons and the like in Crackdown 2. Sadly I don't see anything concrete in this job posting.

Well, from what I remember the agents are genetically engineered and used for evil.

Maybe they've defected, and these are the new means of cleaning up the streets? If Crackdown got a little more gritty and had more depth, I'd love it even more.

I'm gonna hazard a guess that that's not Crackdown 2.

This is your brain on crack. See that monster over there? Oh you see a old man instead? Here, take some crack. Okay now what do you see? You see an old man with some horns on his head? Good, we're getting some where. Here, have some more crack.

This is good. I would like Crackdown 2, but I would love a game that isn't Crackdown with the same level of fun and wish-fulfilment. I can live without unnecessary sequels.

In Crackdown 2 you are assigned to the IP squad. This is concept art of stolen concept art that will cause you to savagely beat some developers. If you don't think it's right to beat IP infringers, consider this : it will give you points.

Not even Crackdown 2 would get me to go back to Dundee. I've never been offered smack so many times in one night.
