Rubber Soul, Sgt. Pepper's albums coming to The Beatles game photo

Announced at E3, we already knew that the entirety of The Beatles' Abbey Road would be coming to The Beatles: Rock Band as downloadable content after the game's September 9 release

Today, in a massive New York Times article, it's been revealed that Rubber Soul and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band are also scheduled for release. In fact, the Times article mentions that along with Abbey Road, they will be "the first three albums" released; it's possible we'll see more appear down the line. Our wallets cringe, but the Beatles fan inside of us hollers and tears up like a teenage girl at Shea Stadium in '65.

The NYT article in question is pretty incredible; check it out.

I really don't want to pay full price for this game now, especially with the prospect of two more albums than I'd previously heard. £40 for the solus game, and each DLC pack will be around £10. That's a lot of money I'm not willing to spend!

I want the game so bad, but I'll be waiting for a deal or something. I hope one comes soon!

YES! Sgt. Pepper is my favorite Beatles album. Even if I don't buy this right away, I'm definitely adding this to my collection.

As a result, I will probably pirate the game, and spend the $50 I would have spent on it towards DLC. What a twisted world we live in.

I never understood the appeal of the Beatles. I'll rent the game to try it out, but I won't pay money for it.

This is fantastic news, I can't wait to play "Norwegian wood" and "A day in the life" assuming those ones aren't disc songs. I still can barely believe we're getting full album support.

What I don't understand is people here and elsewhere who like "OMFG, more DLC, that sucks! So I won't buy the game." If you liked the idea of the game before the announced robust post-release support, and dislike it after... I don't think you've thought this all the way through.

Fantastic, I've been listening to Rubber Soul a lot lately and thinking what an awesome Beatles Rock Band album it'd make.

Hey anyone care to post a link to the nyt text where it doesn't require a subscription?

Also I'm all for dlc on this game. It's only the 40 songs on the disc of course I'm going to want more. Will I rush out to get please please me like I will rubber soul? Nope but at least I could theoretically have the option.
