I really wasn't a fan of Angry Birds, but Angry Birds Space is actually cool as fuck. It's a little more unique, the gameplay is really cool with the way gravity works. Some planets have gravity lines so you get pulled down to them if you get near them, and with that you can basically slingshot around planets OR use the gravity to land your birds just right. It's really cool.

Same here. I was pleasantly surprised by the new physics tricks. It takes a lot more skill than just slinging a bird through the air. And it's fucking fun.

Love it, but ugh, dem Android Market ads. Don't think the $0.99 version is available in Canada either...laaame... I try to be legit... Anyways, Nintendo's probably kicking themselves for not extending the Mario Galaxy mechanics like this first.
I also live in Seattle area. Agree completely. Also, I hope they put the new one on Windows Phone 7 or at least HP Touchpad.
That will get old faster than the crate and chair! As for Angry Birds Space, I wonder how good it will sells, looks too hard/complex for casual gaming.

I too am much surprised and rather optimistic about what Rovio has done with Angry Birds Space. The gravity mechanics are pretty cool and I think may represent what Nintendo was trying to do with the Wii by introducing new audiences to video games and then ramping up the complexity or 'gaminess'- you know, turning grandma into the next CoD champ and shit like that. Guaranteed if this same game had appeared on Steam with a different, non-Angry Birds skin, it would sell like mad and be hailed as another example of fine physics-based indie puzzlers. Ugh, it is so difficult to say that about Rovio but good on them for finally ending the stream of rehashes that Angry Birds has been thus far.

Every other city in Washington? You have to be off your fucking rocker to believe that. Seattle isn't perfect by a long shot, but it beats the pants off of, oh, Bremerton. Or marysville. Or Spokane. Or Renton. Or mill creek. Fer fuck's sake.
They should go one better and edit it in to every episode of Frasier. Afterall, that's the only thing Seattle is known for to us Brits.
Seattle is practically the Hollywood of videogames if you look at how many major developers are based in the area: Valve, Bungie, PopCap, not to mention Microsoft and Nintendo of America. And, yes, I'm aware most those companies are in Redmond or Kirkland but Seattle is the center of the region. Traffic sucks, so does the weather, it's too expensive, it's full of snobs, Seattle isn't perfect but it's beautiful, got great culture and the smartest populace of any city in America.
Just bought Angry Birds Space, and it's already better than the other games in the series. I love the use of gravitational pull (kinda like Halfbrick's 'Blast Off' or WayForward's 'Mighty Milky Way'), which actually adds skill to the gameplay, other than just randomly flinging and hoping.

Why all the hate for Seattle? If it's not Hollywood fine but game development is a huge industry here. I have multiple friends who work on games like Guild

Ugh, I saw this yesterday when I was walking home (in Seattle). From Capitol Hill it looked like a big nipple pendant on a necklace. Horrible.
And this hatred of Seattle is just silly. I've lived on both coasts and in the Midwest, and Seattle is one of the best cities in the country. The food here is fantastic, it's absolutely gorgeous, and you're not surrounded by idiots everywhere you go. This city only sucks if you have to drive in it (which I don't), but what can you expect from a city surrounded by water.

I read that Amazing Alex is gonna be their next hit, no doubt about it. Casey's contraptions was a game with pretty good logic and game play.
