Fuck that. RDR won both critical and financial success--WHY THE FUCK would you NOT want to release it for the PC???
There certainly isn't any piracy on the PS3 and 360, ;-).

Possibly because the pc and console market overlap. When a game sells that many units they might be worried there isn't much more of a market left to take advantage of. Maybe they have projects they see as more viable at this point and moving manpower to port a roughly year old game just isn't in the cards. Maybe they just don't give a shit. Who knows, who cares.

Maybe not abandoned the PC, but certainly have given it the finger with crappy, buggy and unstable releases, little support and skipping hte best game they've done in a while for a PC release.
@jimmyx I love consoles but I can't afford one right now, all I have is my PC to work, who also can handle new releases fine, it's not BIAS, I love my PC, but I respect every videogamer here. I'm really disspointed to see that RDR it's not coming to PC, but I tired L.A. Noire on a friends house for 360 and my Wallet it's ready for November 8. Hopefully it will come with most of the bugs I found on 360 fixed...

I played it on ps3 which was robably the best way to play the game.Because I didn't have the disc for my xbox but I had it for my ps3 so I played it on my ps3, which for me, was the best way to play it because I tried putting the disc in my xbox once and it told me it couldn't read the disc so I was angry but then I remembered I have a ps3 so i put the disc in the ps3 but I forgot it was the wrong disc and ended up putting a xbox disc in my ps3 and that just caused more confusion when my ps3 told me not to put xbox games in it so i took the disc out and found where I put my disc for red dead redemption which was in my xbox the whole time which seems really dumb but if you remember i was allready confused as to where the disc was in the first place so my leaving it in the xbox isn't really such a bad thing anyway then i put the disc in my ps3 which is where it belonged in the first place and started to finally play the game which ended up being a really good game with all the horses and the excellent song by Jose gonzalles but im sure you don't even like the music because i know you like rap which brings up another argument that i don't really want to get into but all i'll say is that rap is a poor choice of music if you were to ask me but that is just my opinion not really objective fact but then again it kind of is objective fact that rap is poor anyway back to red dead which i was playing on my ps3 which was the only system that could play the disc so it was clearly the best system to play the disc.

The venom in my post stems from the fact that I have it for PS3 and have invested TONS of hours into it in single and multiplayer and I want to give them even more money so I can do it all over again on PC (with all the inevitable kick-ass mods of course) and yet they are pretending that it doesn't even exist. Makes me upset because this has been one of my favorite games in recent years and not because I am a "PC fangirl" lol.
So that's basically a big fat 'NO' for Red Dead Redemption on PC. Oh, well. At least I can finally uncross my fingers and stop praying for it every night before I go to bed.

Well, going from the copy of GTA - San Andreas I bought for PC on release, PC support was always an after-thought.
The performance issues were a good tip off, but then I got to the Low Riding quest, that displayed PS2 buttons on screen, instead of my bound PC keys.
Pretty sure GTA 4 on PC also suffered from a lack of optimization of any kind. I didn't bother trying that out, as the GTA 4 release for PC was much later, while I got San Andreas for PC at the same time it hit consoles.

What with that recent stat about the PC market becoming (or about to become, I can't remember) the biggest games market again, they might want to rethink this. It'd be nice to see the PC becoming the primary platform again, or better yet for companies to just make sure that their products work properly across all the platforms.
Red Dead Redemption had a pretty horrific development schedule as I recall, lots of problems and industry analysts predicting that a Western themed videogame would bomb.
As it happened, it didn't. I'm also lead to believe, from this statemement by Rockstar, that they've already tried and given up on a PC port as the original game has been such a mess to develop in the first place that porting it over to the PC is just too difficult which is certainly plausible given their track record of utterly shitely optimized PC ports even when the going is good.

Maybe (but this is highly unlikely imo) they are just busy with making higher fidelity gfx? Anyway, this game is worth getting a console for.
As a PC gamer Id much rather play any Rockstar game on a console tbqh, as the games are all obviously designed for them. This includes LA Noire, though considering what happened to the dev company Im surprised it got ported to the PC at all.
Red Dead Redemption critically well recieved and sold brilliantly. LA Noire recieved well, but not Great and sold ok. WTF is Rockstar doing giving us LA Noire instead of RDR? Game guaranteed to sell well, skipped over and other that sells mildly is ported for more sales. WTF are you doing Rockstar!?
On other forums people have pointed out that the code is probably hacked together like nobody's business. It is entirely possible that that is the case and they can't port it easily, which is their MO. It's their own damn fault for making shoddy ports instead of developing simultaneously and now they probably lost a couple million because of it. Cest la vie.

I'll be honest, I don't care if they're just gonna port. They shouldnt really be touting GTA IV as a sign that they really back the pc platform, because it took several years for the game to be playable on a typical mid-range gaming pc.
Simple fact is, their games are too large in scope on the technical side to just port over between platforms, especially from the limited but consistent consoles to the potentially incredible but also potentially weak pc platform. Do it properly or don't bother, I reckon.

Rockstar abandoned PC gamers a long time ago. GTAIV wasn't a PC game. It was a broken bunch of unoptimized DRM caked console crap.
