Just messing around, I shot the driver off of a stagecoach. The shotgun passenger slid over to take the reigns, but instead just jumped down off of the coach - he fell right through the ground though, screaming. I thought he was dead and gone, a hilarious glitch, but then I saw that I had an eyewitness running around... and it was him, he was alive underneath the ground. That's one way to escape, I suppose.
Really? Pretty sure that's not true, ever, anywhere. I would pay shitloads of cash to see you have a QA job, find a bug in a game that's behind schedule, going crazy over budget, has had ridiculous amounts of marketing put behind it guaranteeing its release NOW and then you find a graphical bug with no clear reproduction steps that you stop the launch of.
Please. Continue to tell me what my job responsibilities are and what authority QA has. At best we can assess the severity of an issue and bitch about it. Stopping the launch of a 100 million dollar project? I want to live in your fantasy world.
What good does it do file bugs if they're not going to be fixed? Knowing about them without fixing can be a liability in court.
Management can and *does* override QA. Often. Of course it does no good to file bugs and not have them fixed. Welcome to the frustrating issue 10045 of working QA. 20 years in programming and this shit surprises/offends/confuses you? Seriously?
And court liability? I suppose that's technically true. You should call R* and see if they care. Actually, you should call every dev house that's ever launched a for profit product with known issues and let them know. Silly tangent is silly.
QA does not stop launch. As a dev you should know better than anyone that nothing is shipped bug-free, and there's fuck all anyone can do about it.
Still, I absolutely adore this game... and will adore it even more once the online portion is properly up and running!
Thanks for an absolutely great game, Rockstar! =)
Nesmin why don't you just QA the fuck outta this and fix it.. /boggle
I work at a game company... and the QA here do a phenomenal job at finding all of the issues in any build. HQ, on the other hand, seems to like to not fix most of them because they either can't reproduce it, or they say there's no time. The QA pushes as hard as they possibly can to get the producers to fix it, but when their bonus is on the line, they prefer to release a game on time instead of delaying it even more.
I'm sure Rockstar's problem is just about server overloads... they most likely did test it, but not on a scale anywhere close to the amount of people that are currently playing the game.
"Players should use this opportunity to sneak into the girls' shower room. That is what invisibility is for."
Invisibility is for robbing banks.. which is obviously a little more relavent!
Aside: Has anyone else been having serious issues with the sound not syncing up in the PS3 version? It's way off at all times for me, and I don't know if it's a problem with just my copy or others'.
I saw the coaches with hydros glitch last nite too. Pretty funny. The horse flew about 2 blocks and died. I skinned it.
What bug you talking about? I unlocked the outfit just fine. I believe the bounties become available at random (seeing as how I reloaded a save and the bounty was different). It seems it's just a case of you being unlucky enough to not have that particular bounty available yet. Perhaps the next time a bounty is available, you should just keep re-loading until Mo Van Barr comes up.
I just finished the Deadly Assassin quest. Mo Van Barr will show up on the bounty board in Armadillo. And sometimes it doesn't pop up. It's kinda random. If you're already looking in Armadillo, then I got nothing. lol
Do a quick google search around.. I am not alone on this. Just like not everybody is experiencing the invisibility bug (I haven't, but I've mainly been concentrating on the single player so far.) My friend didn't have any trouble with the bounties, either... lucky bastard.
But many of us are getting to the point where the bounties in Armadillo are not even names of people anymore, but question marks. So, it's pretty obvious after doing some 20-30 bounties that this guy is not going to be popping up for us. Even if you're tracking the Scrap in the outfit section, which shouldn't even matter, really. But I have tried everything.
I'm now messing around in Mexico but I come back to Armadillo occasionally to fruitlessly try to find the Mo Van Barr bounty.. but to no avail.
