Ubisoft's gone ahead and announced that Rocksmith has just received its latest stash of downloadable content. As you'd expect, it's more songs to play along to.

Said songs are coming to us all the way from the wacky years that were the 1960's and 70's. Now -- and please don't hurt me for this -- I've never heard of "(Don't Fear) The Reaper," but I'm pretty sure everyone everywhere has heard of Barracudaaaaaaa and Space Oddity.

Each song will be available for $2.99 on PSN and Xbox LIVE for 240 Microsoft Points. You're buying all three songs, aren't you Barracuda?

lol FPS Baby Jesus, you obviously have zero idea what you're talking about as Rocksmith is one of the best games out there--and that's coming from someone who absolutely dislikes rhythm games. This thing lets you use a REAL guitar and learn how to actually play a REAL guitar.

Not to mention it does a good job of teaching by making it fun.

Oh and: Harry Monogenis must be a 90's baby. lololo

Baracuda sucks. The Reaper and Space Oddity fucking rule.

If you're familiar with "More cowbell" then you know The Reaper. I don't think I know Space Oddity even though I listen to classic rock a lot.

You guys are fags ifyou don't know these songs. However: Space Oddity is a waste of money heere. It's literally a handful of chords repeated. Look it up online after fooling around with Night of the Chordead or something

So have any of you guys been playing this?

I really want it, but it doesn't come out here (UK) for ages. I'm a pretty proficient guitar player, just want to learn more actual songs and have an excuse to play more.

I'm quite hyped. Please add to or chip away at my hype!

@sexualchocolate I thought Guitar Hero was novel for the first game, I didn't get into Rock Band, but damn if Rocksmith isn't fun. As Dhaos said, the load/save times are annoying and the menus are a mess, but I'd like to add that as you are a proficient guitar player, you might be really annoyed at the way you are presented a song. Basically, you have to "prove" to the game that you can play it perfect without screwing up to unlock the real version of the song, and that only happens incrementally. Expect to play "In Bloom" over and over when trying to unlock Master mode on it just because you are missing one of Kurt's scratch guitar moments in the solo. Annoying, but not a total turn off.
