Dtoid's little drummer boy NukaCola is back with a brand new drum cover, this time of one of favorite game series ever, Rocket Knight. Specifically, he covers the opening level themes of both Sparkster on the SNES and Rocket Knight Adventures 2 on the Genesis. They are variations of the same tune, the former at a lower tempo and the latter at a more high-octane pace. Both are magical, of course.
I'm so glad Nuka shared this with me. I've got the original right here in my room, and I've been itching to play a little Genesis over the past few weeks. I think this video has pushed me over the edge. I'm off to relive my childhood, people! Peace!

Meet the rest of the team
I missed the originals, but I have the new Rocket Knight on Steam. It's one of my favorites of the newer 2D platformers. Really captures the "feel" of a Genesis game. Good controls and a lot of charm.
The only thing I dislike about the Rocket Knight series is how inconsistent the art style is. I freakin' loved the art design in the first game but the overly colourful, and 'smooth' styles of Rocket Knight 2, Sparkster, and the 2010 versions never really gelled for me.
Brilliant games, though. The soundtracks to all of them (bar the last) are great!
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
It pains me to have missed buying the latter when I had the chance; I'm sure it's expensive as hell on eBay.

This guy is great!
