Rock dudes like Cap America: MUA 2 demo hits LIVE photo

Those of you interested in chuck a star-adorned shield at uninspired enemies in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 take note: the demo for the follow-up is now available on Xbox LIVE Marketplace, according to Microsoft’s LIVE wizard Major Nelson.

As the first poster on the Major’s blog pointed out, this demo is a bit late. The brawler made its debut in middle September. It was met by decent reviews, but I, for one, wasn’t able to dig what MUA 2 brought to the table. The mechanics were stable, but it did nothing more than its predecessor tried to do long ago. It feels dated and looks dated. Plus, the narrative elements introduced leave much to be desired.

On the up side, Captain America can f’ing roll in the game. He’s able to deliver punishment to mercenaries just as fast and violently as The Hulk or whatever can.

So, right, the demo: it’s out. Any of you going to grab it?

yes please. these games get old fast, but I loves me some comics so they're always fun for a bit.

on another note, I played the first one through on the PSP and it doesn't let you start the quest over w all your characters unlocked and everything after you beat it. what a rip off. I totally would've played through it a 2nd time, but I wasn't going to start from scratch.

Heck yes. I'd pick 4 Captain's if I could. I'll probably buy this game once its really cheap. Not my favorite kind of gameplay but anything with the Cap in it is automatically on my want list.

I really liked MUA2, so I bought the DLC characters instead. Even though it's not everyone I want, I want it to sell well so they can do another pack in the future. One that has She-Hulk, Sentry, Hercules, Ronin, and Namor.

What a late demo. Wish I would have had this opportunity when the game came out so I didn't have to waste time and money renting it. I thought it was alright, but it was like they made the same game (shocking!) as the first, yet took out a lot of the original special little tidbits. I have no idea why anyone would do that, especially with such an IP, given the fact that anything Marvel puts its name on, core Marvel fans will pounce at. It was a wasted effort. New characters being placed into a boring, linear, repetitive story doesn't make the game any more enjoyable.

I'll definitely check out the demo, because I want to see for myself why everyone was so disappointed. I loved the first game and was really saddened to hear that this one wasn't up to par.

Would it have been received better if it came out in the middle of the year, when there is generally less high-level competition?
