Today, Harmonix has revealed the bonus tracks that will ship with the Wii version of Rock Band when it hits shelves this June.
"Dirty Little Secret" - The All-American Rejects
"Don’t Look Back in Anger" - Oasis
"Roam" - The B-52’s
"Rockaway Beach" - The Ramones
"Roxanne" - The Police
If these tracks look familiar, it's because they have all be released as downloadable content for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Rock Band. So not only does the Wii version ship "gimped" -- no online play, no downloadable content, no true "Band World Tour" mode -- but the bonuses Wii owners get aren't really all that special. The good news is that the drums are white, though.
Harmonix could have at least tossed on some "timed exclusive" tracks on the disc, or at least thrown Wii owners some sort of a bone here. Even though they're getting shafted in the price department, at least Europeans are rumored to be getting some unreleased bonus tracks in their games when it ships this MayAugust year.
Wow. Even I am surprised at the douchebaggery involved here. The PS2 debacle now this? Interesting move with choosing your companies to port your games, Harmonix. Activision got a very good port of GH3 to where you didn't really notice anything different outside of DLC, but this is a sham!
At least there isn't the ROCK BAND official AIR GUITAR toy like GH has that I saw last night at work -_-
Gametrailers are on the case. I've replaced the video with an image. You're really not missing much. It's footage of Rock Band, and then there's a picture of the game's box. It's pretty exciting.
Yeah Next to You is by The Police and on the disc.
This blows for Wii owners. Aside from Rockaway Beach and Roxanne (well Roam is good too but long as hell) those tracks aren't even good. Not in my opinion anyhow.
Hey at least they have a wireless guitar if anyone cares.
the police and the ramoans good. But Harmonix does not have a good idea of what is good to play maybe the B52 would be good. There are so many better songs they could have its just EA making them hold off on the good ones plus the Wii wont even get any downloads.
Might I suggested they surprise us and put some F-Zero tracks on here? Seriously, take advantage of the fact that you're working with Nintendo on this one. Get some classic Nintendo tracks in here, make it worth our while to WANT to get -- or at least be envious -- of the Wii version. Christ, it kind of worked with the SSX and NBA Street titles on GameCube (when EA tossed some classic Mario universe characters into the mix).
i would not be mad if all they did not have was DLC but the world tour and lack of online and not being able to make your own rock starts is bad. All that stuff they could do i see no reason why they did not gezz even GHIII has online.
"Might I suggested they surprise us and put some F-Zero tracks on here? Seriously, take advantage of the fact that you're working with Nintendo on this one. "
Hell yes. That I might be willing to pay full price for. But tracks that are already available for PS3 and 360 players? Do they really think us Wii owners are that desperate?
Good day, Harmonix. You've just officially lost a potential customer. D:<
I wish they would make an international version (like with music from the country it is shipped for) for different countries, but alas only in my dreams.
I had a feeling the bonus Wii songs would be nothing more than already released PS3/360 DLC. Sure, a part of me was hoping for some Nintendo-exclusive game themes, but I think that would be asking for too much... but yeah, this is quite the let down.
At least the drums look like sex. I guess that's all the Wii version has going for it now...
God, those tracks are pathetic, except perhaps for "Roxanne". I love the idea of Nintendo-exclusive songs. Too bad that's too cool for the assholes at Harmonix to think of.
Mario Kart 64's "Rainbow Road" theme would have been a great addition for something like that. And even though it's not Nintendo related, why not add "Still Alive" to it!?!!
if [ "$COMPANY" = "Harmonix" ]; then
echo "Pathetic assholes"

Also, rumour mill suggest EA may reduce the price of Rock Band for Europe tomorrow.

Do not want, but I can see the Wii version selling the most copies in Europe. Only the casual milfs will have money to buy it anyway.

They can always just get songs like the Pokemon theme and the Smash Bros theme. OMELET PREVAIL!

Mario Kart 64? And what do you propose the singer do with the microphone?
