Rock Band DLC: White Stripes, Kasabian, The Damned photo

With the release of LEGO Rock Band, this week marks the first Rock Band DLC announcement where Harmonix/MTV has to go out of its way to specify what and what is not going to be available for the "family-friendly" title.

This week, everything is appropriate for the little ones, except for The White Stripes "Icky Thump," a song that deals with the somewhat-sensitive topic of immigration... and opens up with a line about getting drunk. Okay, I see where they're going with this.

Single song, $1.99/160 MS Points/200 Wii Points per track
The Damned - "Smash It Up (Part II)" +
Kasabian - "Club Foot" +

The White Stripes Pack 01 ($5.49/440 MS Points for the pack, $1.99/160 MS Points/200 Wii Points per track)
"Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground" +
"Girl, You Have No Faith in Medicine" +
"Icky Thump"

("+" indicates the song is LEGO Rock Band friendly)

If I wasn't a millionaire, I'd personally probably pass on most of next week's tracks. But since I installed that Ion Drum Rocker kit on the Rock Band deck of my yacht, my hand is forced to purchase them all. Which of these things will you be buying, if any at all?

Icky Thump will be worth getting just because of that hilariously badass riff. Although god help me if they chart that messed up synthesizer part to the guitar; I'll be failing hard.

It would also be a really fun song to do vocals and guitar at the same time on.

Looks like I'm saving my MS points this week.

@ mackie junior HMX mentioned they did chart that part in their podcast and Icky is now the hardest song on guitar. Also Nick Chester makes a great appearance. Check it out.

Poor White Stripes picks in my opinion. Club Foot is a nice surprise though.

Icky Thump and Club Foot both get downloaded by me, in the alternate universe where I'm not a cheap-ass and actually own Rock Band.

I made a virtual Freddie Mercury a couple days ago after I bought Lego Rock Band (and subsequently exported all the songs so I could just play them in Rock Band 2). I'm surprised it took me this long o do it.

I just wanted to share that.

The Damned? As in "where are 'the damned' Flight of the Conchords songs that we were supposedly getting in October?"

God I'm going to have to buy like $50 of MS points to get caught up on all my songs.

All three White Stripes songs and Club Foot go into the list of shit I need to buy.

Man I can't wait to get Lego Rock Band.

Not really that much into the white stripes, but oh well. Also I was expecting Fell in Love With a Girl, cause you know, Legos.

I don't think they ever confirmed a date for those songs, just that they were coming.

I actually really enjoy the white stripes so I may be downloading their songs.

While I have liked the White Stripes in the past(and even own the cd with Icky Thump on it), there is no fucking way I'll buy these tracks because of Jack White's douchy opinion on music games. He can cry me some big crocodile tears about having to get his music in Rock Band for people to listen. That opinion lost him a cd buying fan. @GuitarAtomik-

You're right, I remembered the story I read about the songs incorrectly...turns out the October date was just guesswork by the writer, assuming that the songs would be timed to come out near their new album's release date.

Still, I want those songs! So I'll probably just keep complaining in every Rock Band DLC story.

I'd bet those 3 songs from Flight of the Conchords are going to be part of the Rock Band Network when it finally hits. But either way, I really want them too.

My prayers have been answered and Jack White has ever want sold out again. Although not good song choices. Black Math, Ball and Biscuit (live), and Catch Hell Blues would've been better by far. All I need now from HMX is Arcade Fire and Grizzly Bear and I'll again.

I find it curious that "The DAMNED" is Lego Rock Band friendly!
