It's an actual thing that is actually happening -- Snoop Dogg's music is coming to Rock Band next week.
Eight of of Mr. Calvin Broadus' hits will be coming to the game, available for download from the Rock Band Store. These versions were evidently produced specifically for Rock Band.
- “Beautiful”
- “Drop It Like It’s Hot”
- “Ridin’ In My Chevy”
- “Sensual Seduction”
- “Snoop’s Upside Ya Head”
- “Tha Shiznit”
- “That’s Tha Homie” *
- “Who Am I (What’s My Name)?
Tracks are $1.99/160 MS Points/200 Wii Points per track, or $13.49/1080 MS Points for the full "Snoop Dogg Pack 01." Here's what it gets confusing, so takes notes…
The individual tracks will be available for download on all platforms (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii) next week as individual song downloads; you'll only be able to get it as a pack next week on the Xbox 360. Oh, and "That's Tha Homie" won't be available for download on the PS3 until September 14 in North America, and September 15 in Europe. On September 21 in North America and September 22 in Europe, the entire "Snoop Dogg Pack 01" will be available for download on the PlayStation 3.
Confused? Bottom line is that if you have an Xbox 360, you can get everything next week and in a nice package if you want. If you're on another platform, just fire up your console and see what's available, because keeping track of all of this is too much work. Fo' shizzle.

I don't get the hip-hop hate (someone needs to stop taking everything on the radio at face value and do a little homework) but Snoop Dogg is just meh.
The Roots (their new album is an instant fucking classic), Digable Planets, De La Soul, I mean if we have to have hip-hop must it be this clown?
And lastly, Final Fantasy is never final, Guitar Hero has a full band, Super Mario Bros. features a character with Mario as the first name, and The Legend of Zelda is almost always about Link. So let's all shut up about how Rock Band has a minority of non-rock tracks. M'kay? It's a name. Get over it and load your troll cannons with some better ammo already.
Snoop Dogg plays live shows with a live band. I haven't head the Rock Band DLC tracks, but I can only hope that "produced exclusively for" means someone went into the studio with instruments for this.
First comes Hannah Montana and iCarly tracks, then the mostly awful Rock Band 3 setlist and now this..? Not to mention the fact that it seems to be impossible for them to license a decent song when they finally pick up a decent band. It's always a low rated, crap song no matter how good the band may be.
Well he has a band. If that's your beef is that he doesn't have a band then yeah.
In fact if I recall correctly when this DLC was announce months ago it was because he and his band are getting back together or something.
I mean Rage Against the Machine and Beastie Boys rap. Rap is a verb, not a genre. Hip-hop is a genre. One filled with artist like The Roots who full on five piece+ bands. With fuckin' guitar solos and everything.
Broaden yo horizons son!
@NiNFAN1990
I disagree. I find the shitty pop choices to be few and far in between but they exagerrated. I mean you mention iCarly and Miley Cyrus. But those were months and months apart. In between that we got Pantera, Jimi Hendrix, Ozzy, we got good shit.
I know how this looks coming from me but I swear when it comes to DLC picks I'm completely neutral and for the most part I think they've been doing fine. Dipping into the minors here and there but nothing particularly dealbreaking.
And as far as the RB3 and GH:WOR setlists go I think I like GH's more but I can also acknowledge that they're two totally different games appealing to two very different audiences. Which I like. I like that distinction over imitation.
Also, troll against La Roux all you want. I've got my PM inbox filled with 'em. All in all you're just another brick in the wall.
I mean Freezepop have been in several GH's even into the Neversoft era. Synthpop has kind of always been in American peripheral based music games.
I'm not trying to be condescending. Didn't realize you had such a heart of glass.
I'm sure that the first thing that was considered when this announcement was made was, if it would be OK with you.
Aren't they lucky that it is.
@Xzyliac
yep, The Roots are awesome, some DLC from their catalog would be incredible. Maybe more suited to RB3 though with keys? What about Tribe Called Quest?!?!!
Dude, chill out. I'm not even upset. I'm sittin' here on my break right as rain. What makes you think I'm being uptight? I'm just enjoying the music of conversation (or...painting...since this is text).
Also, Heart of Glass rules.
I'm sure if you listened to some actual GOOD rap, (Primarily rap from the 90s: 2Pac, Wu-Tang, A Tribe Called Quest, Gangstarr, Cypress Hill, etc.) your irrational reasoning for instantly loathing rap would disappear.

That is EPIC son!!!!
Last I checked...Rock Band was about, well, you know, Rock Music. Even if it's very thinly labeled rock.
Of course the lyrics will be easy since rap music doesn't contain any real words to begin with. Just make low pitched noises and you'll be fine.
LOL's on trolling both good and bad.
LOL's on hating hip hop.
/butterfly kisses
As long as people know what they're talking about they can dislike whatever.
That said, I kind of agree. But if I were proven wrong I'd be more understanding. Not like anyone needs my approval to hate something. But basically I'd quit being a bitch. :P
@YoTanaka
Tribe is fucking gold. Dammit, I wish Def Jam RapStar didn't look so meh. :(
That said. I'll probably get the death row tracks. Not a big fan of anything after doggystyle.
HURR NOT REAL MUSIC
That said I'm not a fan of hip-hop (and I understand Snoop Dogg isn't exactly the best example XD of the genre) but there's no need to go hating on anything that isn't dad-rock or metal.
