Rock Band DLC: Tom Petty, Billy Idol, and more photo

Next week's Rock Band Store update finally brings Billy Idol's "Rebel Yell" -- a song far better than "White Wedding" (yes, I said it) -- to the game.

Additionally, Tom Petty makes his debut in the game with two tracks, both of which you're probably familiar with unless you want to make me feel like an old man and/or live under a rock.

Also, other stuff!

  • Billy Idol - "Mony Mony"
  • Billy Idol - "Rebel Yell"
  • Fleetwood Mac - "Don't Stop"
  • Fleetwood Mac - "World Turning"
  • Jet - "She's a Genius"
  • Tom Petty - "I Won't Back Down"
  • Tom Petty - "Runnin' Down a Dream"
All of those tracks will be available for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 for $1.99 and 160 MS Points respectively. If you're a Wii owner, or wondering about what's coming to Rock Band Unplugged next week, all of that's after the jump. Tracks available for Wii (Aug. 25, 200 Wii Points per track ):
  • Blind Melon - “No Rain”
  • Blur - “There’s No Other Way”
  • Dropkick Murphys - “I’m Shipping Up to Boston”
  • Eve 6 - “Inside Out”
  • Foo Fighters - “All My Life”
  • Foo Fighters - “I’ll Stick Around”
  • Foo Fighters - “Lonely as You”
  • Kaiser Chiefs - “I Predict a Riot”
  • Belly – “Feed the Tree”
  • Ghost Hounds – “Wind Me Up”
  • Godsmack – “I Stand Alone”
  • Grateful Dead – “Cold Rain & Snow”
  • Grateful Dead – “Doin’ That Rag”
  • Grateful Dead – “Don’t Ease Me In”
  • Grateful Dead - “Fire on the Mountain”
  • Grateful Dead – “Hell in a Bucket”
  • Grateful Dead – “Uncle John’s Band”
  • James Gang – “Funk #49”
  • Mute Math – “Typical”
  • Rob Zombie – “War Zone”
  • Turbonegro – “Wasted Again”
  • White Zombie – “Black Sunshine”
  • White Zombie – “More Human Than Human”
Tracks available for Rock Band Unplugged (Aug. 27, $1.99 per track):
  • The Zombies – “She’s Not There”
  • White Zombie – “Black Sunshine”

YES, finally.... Rebel Yell. Actually, all the songs look really good this week. I'll actually purchase some RB DLC for the first time in a long time.

I agree, Rebel Yell is awesome.

I feel the Fleetwood Mac choices could be better, but then again, I'm also bitter about Go Your Own Way being just another track I want thats on Rock Band 2, a game not available (by normal means) in NZ.

Awesome, Runnin' Down A Dream. Great song on San Andreas, and now the only thing GH5 has is The Spirit of Radio.

It took WAY too long to score more Fleetwood Mac. I'm still holding out for all of Rumours.

If I hear/see anybody play Mony Mony, they will immediately not be my friend. That song is like nails on a chalkboard. Rebel Yell = Win, though!

While I disagree that Rebel Yell is a better song than White Wedding, I will concede that it's more fun to play in a rhythm game.

I'm not a Tom Petty fan, but Running Down A Dream is a good song.

Rebel Yell gets SO OLD after the first three or four times. White Wedding however still gets regular play from me.

I'm disappointed by the JET and Fleetwood Mac choices too. Whatever. I need to save my money anyway.

You guys are wrong, "Rebel Yell" is a better rock song, with more energy than "White Wedding." I have spoken, my word is FINAL.

You know, I dislike the whole "Where is <so and so band>", but I'm going to have to fucking ask where in the hell is goddamn Bauhaus or the like? They have a goddamn goth merchandise and rock out category, but no actual music. Bauhaus is fucking amazing.

me: Fusk yeah, "The Chain" and "Gold Dust Woman" right?
Them: Nope.

Neither song holds a candle to "Dancing with Myself," though.

I agree with Morty. Also, get some of Peter Murphy's solo stuff like "I'll Fall With Your Knife" or "Cuts You Up" on there stat.

Dexter also read my mind, while I'm grateful for the Billy Idol tracks this week, "Dancing With Myself" needs to be released as DLC already.

Thanks for making such a cool project. I've been checking the site for the Windows version, but I never left a comment about it. I know you are working hard and doing it for free so you shouldn't feel rushed or anything.

Knowing those two attributes of the disk might prove at least as useful for ancient history as being able to read the entire text itself.
