Rock Band DLC: Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Joan Jett photo

Dave Grohl fans have something to both cheer and complain about today. Next week's Rock Band Store update will feature a Foo Fighters four pack. On the other hand, there will also be a Nirvana three song pack available... but Grohl didn't play drums on any of the songs. They're from Nirvana's debut record of Sub Pop, Bleach

Foo Fighters Pack 03 ($6.99/560 MS Points for the pack, $1.99/160 MS Points/200 Wii Points per song)

"Best of You"
"The Pretender"
"Wheels"
"Word Forward"

Nirvana Bleach Pack ($5.49/440 MS Points for the pack, $1.99/160 MS Points/200 Wii Points per song)

"About a Girl"
"Blew"
"School"

Joan Jett & the Blackhearts - "Fake Friends" ($1.99/160 MS Points/200 Wii Points)

In other news, what the hell is up with that chick from Twilight playing Joan Jett in an upcoming biopic, The Runaways? What planet do I live on?

Bleach is a solid disc and the Foo Fighters are still one of my favorite bands. I guess what I'm saying is I grew up in the 90s. Consider me sold on both packs. I spend more money on Rock Band tracks these days than I do on actual music... and I don't even play that much.

More Foo Fighters is cool. More Nirvana is cool, too, but when are they going to get the rest of Nevermind on there?

I'm pretty sure the whole Nevermind album is in Rock Band. Some of the songs were on the disc for 1 or 2, and the remaining tracks are up for download. If you have RB 2 and imported the tracks from RB 1, you can buy the remainders and have the whole album... I think.

@Oncomouse

Um... "Smells Like Teen Spirit" still isn't available in Rock Band. Among other songs from "Nevermind," I believe.

"About A Girl" is a fantastic song. Will definitely be picking this up before the Halloween party.

The Foo Fighter songs are alright, too. Not too crazy about the last two in the pack though.

"Lithium" and "Come As You Are" are missing, along with "Smells Like Teen Spirit."

No one has ever heard of those songs, anyhow.

Annnndd STILL no Smells Like Teen Spirit.

This wouldn't be so bad if these weren't the songs that Sub Pop owns. Meaning Sub Pop was planning on releasing them in RBN anyway!

Dammit Harmonix. Also, coming from a mega Jett fan, why the hell did they pick Fake Friends? And more Foo Fighters?Seriously?

This is gonna be the first time in a long time I'm gonna actually declare this a bad week. Not because the song choices but because I think HMX kinda dropped the ball here. Unless those Nirvana tracks were licensed before Sub Pop announced their RBN plans.

Oh about Kristen Stewart playing Joan Jett.

IKNOWRITE!? Actually she looks just like Joan Jett if you've seen the pictures. Only with breast.

I think what's even weirder is the girls are supposed to be 17 year old jailbait and they have fucking Dakota Fanning playing Cherrie Currie. Weird. And then you've got the chick who direct Marilyn Manson's music videos directing and writting it, and the chick from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind did do the casting and those both were/are castes very well so on the one hand it could work.

I dunno bro. As a Joan Jett/ Runaways fan I gotta say they're doing sone weird ass shit over there in Cali. All I know is Kristen Stewart had better not fuck it up or she won't be in the third Twilight.

Also Joan Jett is the producer. It's such a weird cast.

"about a girl" and "blew" are cool songs. But seriously, another Foo Fighters pack? I like FF but 3 song packs and an album is too much.

Also Kirsten Stewart is not nearly hot enough to be THAT bad an actress.

Those two Foo songs I'd never heard of are from their new Greatest Hits album.

In case anyone was wondering.

I have an assumption Activision has exclusivity on "Smells Like Teen Spirit," otherwise we'd have all of Nevermind in Rock Band. But hey, those Bleach tracks are pretty awesome.
