Rock Band DLC: Ministry, The Zombies, The Cranberries photo

Harmonix and MTV have announced next week’s Rock Band Store update, with a chance for a theme completely missed. See if you can figure it out:

Ministry – “Cuz U R Next”
Ministry – “LiesLiesLies”
The Zombies – “She’s Not There”
The Zombies – “Tell Her No”
The Cranberries – “Linger”

Tracks will cost you $1.99, 200 Wii Points, or 160 MS Points a piece depending on what console you own. If you have a PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360, the “Ministry Pack 1” will run you $5.49 or 440 MS Points, respectively.

So here’s what I’m getting at: two songs by English rockers The Zombies is good news. But what’s up with The Cranberries “Linger”? Would it have not been a great idea to maybe release, I don’t know, “Zombie” instead? And I love me some Ministry (already saving my MS Points for the full Psalm 69 album download, guys), but how about some White Zombie instead?

This week, the Boston Police department has confirmed it will report any and all zombie activity in and around Harmonix’s Cambridge-based offices. With that in mind, the lack of a zombie-themed DLC week is both upsetting and disappointing. It’s “too late to say you’re sorry,” Harmonix. *rim shot*

[Update: power-glove put a up a nice "preview" of the songs in his Cblog. Check it out if you want to hear some of next week's tracks.]

No Time of the Season? No Zombie? No win.

Yeah, I saw Zombies and Cranberries in the Headline, but the story contained no Cranberries - Zombie? What gives?

I'd kill to see some Psalm 69 tracks on Rock Band. Don't think it will ever happen, but still.

I'd be stoked if they ever put 'Welcome to Planet M-f'er' or 'Love Razor'. Hell, even 'I Am Hell' & 'Feed the Gods' would make my head explode into a gooey mess of absolute epicness...

Then again, I doubt Harmonix has the huevos to do so.

How do you put The Zombies on there and not have "Time of the Season"? It'd be like having Nirvana WITHOUT "Smells like Teen Spirit"!! ..... wait, they haven't yet? Well that's fucking stupid.

@CommanderPoopypants: I remember reading an article years ago when about Al when he was recording Filth Pig. Allegedly, he was recording in an old haunted mansion or something that was infested with spiders. So he would go around the house and kill the spiders with a shotgun.

I love She's Not There. It's one of my favourite 60s songs... if you take out the Beatles.

@akathatoneguy: Yeah, he is looking crusty, but we all have to turn 50 years old sooner or later.

Yeah i havent listened to much Ministry since they put out Filth Pig. I would love to see some tracks from Psalm 69 or the Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste though.

They've got a song from the Cranberries, they've got some songs from The Zombies, but they don't have the song "Zombie" from the Cranberries? That's ridiculous.

I'd probably get "Linger," except I've already purchased it for Lips.
