Rock Band DLC: Kings of Leon, Rancid, Rise Against, Lush photo

Looks like you won't need to wait until September to use your plastic instruments to rock out to Kings of Leon's "Sex on Fire," included in Guitar Hero 5. Harmonix and MTV have announced that a Kings of Leon track pack -- along with music by Rancid, Rise Against, and Lush -- is coming to the Rock Band Music Store next week.

Kings of Leon pack ($5.49/440 MS Points for pack; $1.99/160 per song)

Those new tracks are specific to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Rock Band, but the Wii and PlayStation Portable will be seeing some update love as well. That stuff after the jump.

Rancid! Yes! And these are the actual songs unlike that crap version of Salvation in GHII. There are so many Rancid songs I'd want, but this is a start.

So, I wonder if Harmonix is going to try to steal a little bit of Activision's thunder by releasing songs they have in GH5 as DLC, leading up to that game's release. Not that Kings of Leon are a "OMFG, not buying GH5 because I can download the song to RB" type of band...but still.

I will definitely grab the whole Rancid pack, but I'm not sure if I should get the whole Kings of Leon pack or just the one song. I will have to preview the other two.

Been disappointed with the last couple weeks of RB DLC, but those Kings of Leon (CRAWL!) and Rise Against packs are fucking awesome. Hopefully I can scrape together a bit of money for them.

I would have liked "Hero of War" or "From Heads Unworthy" but that whole album is great, so I can't complain.
