Just yesterday I said to my wife, "Harmonix and MTV had better put out some Halloween-themed songs next week for Rock Band, or I'm going to riot." While it's not what I had in mind, I can't really get upset, because they're kind of trying.
Songs by Rob Zombie (who lives Halloween 24/7) and Wolfmother (that's close enough to the Wolfman, I guess) will be coming to the Rock Band Store next week, along with music by Liz Phair and Morningwood. Boo!
Rob Zombie Pack ($5.49/440 MS Points for pack, $1.99/160 MS Points/200 Wii Points per song)
- "Burn"
- "Dragula"
- "Superbeast"
Wolfmother Pack ($8.49/680 MS Points for pack, $1.99/160 MS Points/200 Wii Points per song)
- "New Moon Rising
- "Pilgrim"
- "Sundial"
- "White Unicorn"
- "Woman"
Liz Phair - "Rock Me" (
Morningwood - "Best of Me" ($.99/80 MS Points/100 Wii Points)
Morningwood - "Sugarbaby" ($.99/80 MS Points/100 Wii Points)
If you're wondering what I had expected or wanted next week, it would be Bobby Pickett and the Crypt-Kicker's "Monster Mash," which I've embedded after the jump so you can bask in its awesome. However, it's okay, because Rob Zombie's "Dragula" features one of my favorite song lyrics ever: "Dead I am the rat, feast upon the cat/Tender is the fur, dying as you purr."
Meow.
I would have preferred The Nth Degree, but I can dig them getting some music in the game, and for only a buck.
My sentiments exactly
There's easily $30 of songs for me to catch up on and now this...
And that isn't even covering Abbey Road.
Takes me back to Jet Grind Radio!
AND WOLFMOTHER!?
Does Harmonix just know when pay week is? Because they have a knack for catching me on that week.
@BluDesign
Join the club. I blew $50 on RB three weeks ago and I still have my grocery list long and growing. Dammit Harmonix!
I refuse to be that guy.
God damn it. So close, yet so far.
For that matter, Dead Kennedeys "Halloween" would have been an obvious choice. And the nightmare fule that is Alice Coopers "Along cam a spider" album would have also worked. Or just tossed on some Koffin Kats or any of the other horror movie physcobilly rock out there.
No, we get Rob Zombie. Yay.
Wolfmothers not bad, but not my halloween choice.
