Rock Band attracts talent, Wii Music attracts pedophiles (probably) photo

Viacom CEO Philippe Dauman has confidently claimed that the Rock Band franchise has a much easier time attracting musical talent than its competitors, thanks mainly to its owned networks and better positioning to promote the music is acquires.

"There's a strong music orientation to our company; many of our networks are ideal vehicles to promote the game, and you'll see more and more of that as we move forward," Dauman boasts. "We also have the opportunity to attract talent to [Rock Band] in a way that our competitors have greater difficulty doing."

Dauman uses the recently acquired Beatles game (which we hypothesized is The Beatles: All You Need Is Blood) as a shining example of Viacom's superiority: ""[The deal] is something that we probably got because we're Viacom -- we're MTV Networks."

So sure, the Rock Band games may have a huge variety of acts crossing a large amount of musical genres, and it may have an easier time attracting talent than other music games, BUT ... does it have "Yankee Doodle Dandy"? I think not. Victory for Wii Music!
