Well crap....

If this is easily backward compatible, I'll just wait for this then...

If not, I needs to get on this horse and get some simulated plastic instrument Ga Ga on.

Just FYI, that is not a screenshot from RB3, but rather a very early build of RB1.

Steal drop-in drop-out party play from GH5 and I'll be a happy camper. Also a way to share money between multiple created characters.

I assume they will be adding harmonies to this installment. It would also be nice if they added harmonies to all the existing DLC... that would be pretty sweet. I will probably buy it even though I don't play it that much anymore.

Definitely steal drop-in/drop-out. Also, let us skip songs in Quickplay.

Real simple things are a given.

And moar music videos.

Upgraded graphics, please! Also, I don't know if anyone else thought of this, but when drumming, the one snare, three toms fill thing blows ass. Make it so that there's a few templates for the fills sounds depending on the song or simply allow us to pick the fill sounds for each pad. That would be great! (Beatles: Rock Band importing?)

Hell yes. As much as I don't care for GH ever since it's been pumped out, they have taken the time to implement some awesome features and the new enginge used in GH5 is way ahead of RB and it's poor interface and menus. Please RB, use this time to make the game faster, more customizable and let me have savable custom setlists! Also, let me use my charater in quickplay cuz that's all I play after I beat the game.

As long as it has a setlist transfer for RB1+2 I would buy day 1 without a second thought.

Wow, I wasn't expecting this news so soon. I figured we'd hear about it at E3 or something.

Ok. I'm definitely buying it first day. All Harmonix needs to do is polish the game a bit more, tighten up the graphics (on level 3), give us some awesome music (which they've been doing for 2+ years now) and completely out and out steal the Party Play mode from Guitar Hero 5.

I'll need to free a lot of space on my harddrive if I want to import all my RB2 songs to this.

I'm kinda sad though that i'll have two games on my shelf after this that are completely redundant. I had some good times with Rock Band 1 and 2...
VinceNotVance's Avatar - Comment posted on 03/09/2010 13:54

Actually, I jumped the gun. If this game is backwards compatibile with the dozens of songs I've bought or downloaded from other games and it still uses the original equipment (remember that rumor about "realistic" guitar controllers?), then it'll be a first day purchase. I still can't justify a $100+ purchase at this time.
Xzyliac's Avatar - Comment posted on 03/09/2010 14:04

Unless they radically change the file format RB has been using since GH1 and that Reaper uses for RBN backwards compatibility is not even an issue.

And since they just did the overhaul from hand doing everything to Reaper that's just not gonna happen.

The only thing people might want to worry about is RB2 disc songs but Harmonix has been really good with that. In that respect nobody can say anything negative about them.

Oh -JOY-. More useless giant boxes of video games to take up space in the backroom of the retailer I work for. We'll just add this to the 5000 Guitar Hero III bundles we have marked down to $50 not-moving from it's place of display.

Wow they're really going all out with Rock Band. Guitar Hero is quickly being swallowed by it, that's for sure. I remember back in the day before I knew RB even existed and GH was the best of the best!

I think it's funny that all of the rb release screenshots still use rockaway beach, which was dlc.

I know they might consider making gameplay enhancements by that point, so I guess my main request would be that my massive song catalog still works with full support in Rock Band 3, possibly with added enhancements. That would truly drive home the idea of Rock Band as a "platform" to me.

Please allow me to rate my songs so that I can organize songs by awesomeness. I have so many songs at this point that I have trouble remembering if I like/hate a song.

5 star rating system, that's all.
