Rock Band 2 reality show to premiere on VH1 Classic this month photo

There have been rumors about this show for a while, but now it’s official!

On October 15, VH1 Classic will premiere a new reality show called Rock Band 2: The Stars. It will feature Alice Cooper (of “Schools Out” fame) and Sebastian Bach (of Gilmore Girls fame) as they play hosts to 12 wannabe fifteen minutes of fame whores rockers as they live in a mansion and compete in different Rock Band 2 competitions.

Nope, I’m not kidding.

Every week the contestant with the worst performance will be eliminated. Once there are three players left -- one on drums, one on guitar, and one on bass -- the final group will perform until one is crowned the ultimate Rock Band 2 player! I also think the winner gets to perform with the traveling Rock Band Live tour, but who cares when you will be known as THE ULTIMATE ROCK BAND 2 PLAYER!

I love reality shows, but this is getting a little ridiculous. Is it really going to be fun watching people play Rock Band 2 on your television week after week after week? Why not just play it at home yourself?! Eh, who am I kidding? I watch I Love Money, for crying out loud. I will probably end up watching this as well. *sigh*

Reality shows are universally stupid. Just one pathetic semi-scripted instance of melodrama after another. And does anybody consider VH1 to be a music channel anymore?

I have found that, in the case of Rock Band, happiness and self-esteem have an inverse relationship with recording and watching performances.

Damn TV really is on it's last legs.

At least when they made a DDR show, it was geared towards kids being healthy and actually dancing. But that didn't last long though.
