Ashen Rift: A man and his dog

Roam the wastelands with your dog in Ashen Rift

I'm a sucker for a post-apocalyptic wasteland (I grew up in Glasgow, go figure), so Ashen Rift: A man and his dog looks to be the type of game I'd like to play. Set after a cataclysmic event, a lone survivor heads to the middle of America in an attempt to shut down the thing he believes caused this damage, something called The Rift.

Whilst I was a bit bummed out to hear this isn't a videogame sequel to the 1975 cult hit A Boy and His Dog, developer Barry Collins has put together an impressive-looking demo in just five months and he's looking for $45,000 CAD to work on finishing the project.

Any game that gives me a canine companion gets the thumbs up in my book, so I'll be keen on seeing if Ashen Rift hits its goal.

Is classic Survival Horror considered old fashioned now?

I like to be scared. I'm not some kind of dark-obsessed weirdo, though. I just really enjoy the feeling of being tense or terrified, so much so that I used to think that there was something wrong with me. Maybe there is. A fe...more
