As you may have already gathered, I'm pretty bloody excited for Rise of the Argonauts, and this new video from Codemasters sheds further light on the interesting "deed" system that should hopefully set the game apart from other sword swingers. Watch as the man with the most active hands in the world explains the unique way in which you level up, and how to gain favor with the Gods.
I don't even think I've seen hands do the things he's making them do in that video. Do they possess their own rudimentary intelligence? Is he even aware that they're doing that? Who knows, or even cares? Just watch the video.

Unfortunately for that guy, that is one hell of a tic he's got there.
As far as the game goes, though... hot damn I'm excited for this game. I went on record in my Mass Effect review as stating that ME was my favorite RPG of all time (I don't play many, so don't flame me for that statement). I seriously think Rise of the Argonauts has what it takes to take the crown away from ME.
Not only is the leveling system awesome but the combat looks fast and fun (not to mention deadly if I understand the system properly) and I love ancient mythology like that. While Too Human certainly piques my interest for its sci-fi rendition of Norse mythology, I can't say I wouldn't prefer a more classical approach in a game. RotG looks like it will deliver that to me in spades.
Mmmm I dunno, it sounds sort of interesting, but I'm sure the portrayal of the Homeric era will be annoyingly hollywoodish, like in the film Troy. If Codemasters set the game in a world actually resembling Homeric myth, that could be interesting, but I won't hold my breath. Bring on the dual weilding, f-bombs, orgy scenes and hopefully The Rock!
I'm excited for almost anything based on Norse or Greek/Roman mythology, so I'm kind of waiting for this game to come out. I just have to remember to hold myself back from all the idiotic 'God of War clone' comments.

I can't wait.
