Oh, it's just filthy. Codemasters has released some new details on the next Colin McRae racer and confirmed that the game will be officially titled DiRT. What's with the lowercase vowel? Who cares when the screenshots look this sweet?
Scheduled to hit Xbox 360 and PC in June, (with the PS3 version trailing not far behind,) DiRT will feature a new physics and damage system, and courses that will put players through several different schools of racing, all while keeping that excellent sense of handling the series has become known for.
Full press release after el jumpos.
Codemasters today confirmed DiRT
as the official title for the next addition to the UK-based publisher¹s
popular Colin McRae racing series. Further, the company also revealed that
DiRT will now add races from the U.S.-based C.O.R.R. (Championship Off-Road
Racing) series to its already heady mix of Rally, Hill Climb, Rally Raid,
Rally Cross and Crossover events. DiRT is planned to launch this June for
the Xbox 360 videogame and entertainment system from Microsoft and the PC,
with the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system edition following
shortly thereafter. The game is currently rated ³RP² (Rating Pending) by
the ESRB.
Already set to deliver an exhilarating thrill ride through a massive variety
of off-road racing experiences, DiRT¹s new C.O.R.R. events see up to 10
drivers going head-to-head in fierce off-road circuit races. The
combination powerful vehicles, including Super Buggies and Pro 4 Trucks,
along with tracks packed full of tabletop jumps, drop-offs and moguls will
make for an intoxicating mix of racing action and will test players¹ driving
skills to the limit.
In addition, gamers will be able to relive those intense and often
breathtaking moments behind the wheel with stunning replays. DiRT¹s replay
system includes dynamic cameras that follow, capture and focus on the most
exciting moments during each race, and for the first time in the series
players are given full control over the replays action.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Wow does this look amazing. I'm definitely going to have to d/l the demo of this just to see it on my monitor if nothing else.
