Rhythm Tengoku x Final Fantasy equals pure, undiluted awesome

Some people mistake what I mean when I say something is deliciously nerdy in a rapturous tone of voice. After all, nerdy has not always been a positive word -- but let me assure you, I mean it in the best way. To get all the references in this incredible video, for example, you have to be a hardcore nerd for both the Rhythm Tengoku and Final Fantasy series. If you love both, prepare to have a good laugh -- this ingenious pairing yields delightful results.

I want to play this game now :(

I also need to play FFV again... I started it almost 10 years ago when RPGe unofficially translated it, but that's the only FF game I haven't played all the way through.

Is that the original audio from Remix-6? I love how it's not perfect.

Didn't recognize all the FF references, but that doesn't matter, because as long as Rhythm Tengoku is involved, awesomeness will follow.

I only caught some of the references, but that was awesome nonetheless.

@-PL-:
V is the only one I actually like. The references to it are the only ones I recognized. I don't get why everyone hates it so much.

OK, I have to admit to not getting this at all.

I understand the awesome part, but not the game play part.

A) Is this a real title and if so . . .
B) . . . what is the interface? What are you hitting when? I don't "get" how the game is played.

I recognized a lot of the tengoku minigames, but hardly any of that seemed to be Final Fantasy related...unless all of them were strictly FF1-3 referrences.

@RyoGeo - I'm sorry, I should have been clearer about that. From what I understand it is fan made and not actually playable. However, if it was it would be played the same way Rhythm Tengoku is, using the beat of the music and keeping time by pressing a button (or in the case of Rhythm Tengoku Gold, tapping the DS screen with your stylus).

I didn't recognize most of the FF references but it was incredibly well done. Only thing that could have been possibly better is if they wrote their own FF remix to go with the gameplay portion, but that would have taken even more considerable effort.

What finally convinced me to get Rhythm Tengoku was looking at a YouTube video of the 1st Remix stage.

Most of the FF references were from FFV. Butz, Galuf, Lenna, and Faris all make several appearances in that video.

I have no idea whats going on but it was pretty cool.

Is this one of those games that in order to play it you have to import it as it looks like a really cool ryhthm game.

I don't really see the point. Rhythm Tengoku has such neat interesting characters.

Still, it was well done.

Colette-Bennett, I think you need to write you some Rhythm Tengoku primers in the clogs if only half of the commenters even understand the implications of the video.
