Rhythm Heaven spotted with a November release date photo

If you read the import review that Dale North and I wrote about Rhythm Tengoku Gold, you may have imported it already if it's your cup of tea, or you may have decided to wait for the English version, which we knew was coming as of E3 2008. Despite the fact I have played the everliving hell out of Gold, I was still planning to pick up a copy of the game when it was released in America, if only to see how the translation was different.

It looks like the wait may be a bit longer than we originally anticipated: according to Amazon, the game is slated for a November 30th, 2009 release date. Ouch. I guess we should be thrilled that a game like Rhythm Tengoku is getting a translation at all, but it disappoints me to hear it will be so long before American audiences can enjoy it. It'll retail for $39.99, which may seem a bit high for a DS game, but I assure you that you will get more than your money's worth out of it.

Ya, that really sucks that we will have to wait for November to play. I haven't played any of the games yet, I was going to import the DS version, but since it is coming to NA, should I just find an copy (if possible) of the GBA RT?

Why is this taking so long to release? I played a very solid copy of this at PAX, with every option in English. Poor show, Nintendo. This won't do as well in a holiday rush anyway.

Wow...just wow...the game doesn't even need to be in English to play and it's taken 2 years to translate. I'm assuming Australia will get it sometime in 2011...

Not that I'm looking forward to this or anything (downloaded the import version, wasn't my cup of tea), but November? Are you kidding me? You mean to tell me it takes Nintendo almost a year to translate a game?

What the hell, Nintendo? This is just a day of shitty gaming news, I swear. This isn't even like, some huge RPG. Hell, even DISSIDIA is coming out before this! Get on the damn ball, Nintendo. Good lord. It's not like their "cup runneth over" with titles keeping them busy. e_e

Eh, definitely better than not coming out at all. I've played the japanese version a lot. There's not that much to translate especially compared to something Persona 4, which came out just a few months later.

I think Rhythm Heaven and 39.99 are placeholders, for some reason amazon raised the prices of 34.99 DS games to 39.99 as placeholders. I believe RH is set for release in the spring.

Hopefully that date is only a placeholder and the real release date won't be that far off.

It's pointless delays like this that keep me from spending my money on games like this.

I'm pretty sure I will be buying but but DAMN, how hard can it be to translate this little game?

I'll be waiting on the review to see if it's worth a purchase if I already have Rhythm Tengoku Gold.

UPDATE: Amazon has changed their date to June 30, 2009. Seems like the November date might have been a placeholder. It's still listed as $39.99, however.
