Ever wonder why Wario Ware: Smooth Moves wasn't a crazy awesome as the other games in the series? It might be because Nintendo R&D1, creators of all the other Wario Ware games, took a break from that game to instead create Rhythm Tengoku (available on GBA and in Japanese arcades). Nintendo R&D1 is also the sole developer of the sequel to Rhythm Tengoku, the brilliantly off-beat Rhythm Heaven, coming to Japanese and US dual screens later this year.

Video can't do Rhythm Heaven justice. Like Rock Band or Guitar Hero, one must really play it (and hear it) to understand it. While the above commercials wont help you understand how great Rhythm Heaven is to play, they will at least give you a taste for how weird it is. The brunette fella with crazy suit is just the beginning.

That first dude looked like he raided Prince's wardrobe but that doesn't mean I don't want this game..because I do.

Also, I always thought the word: "delightfully" was queer..lol.

Any game with Moai is worth double the asking price.

I just watched the Rhythm Tengoku gameplay footage. I want this NOW. Why the hell did they not show this at E3? And screw waiting for PAX for it to be announced. I know this game comes out in Japan next week. NOA loses my money by making me wait. I can navigate a Japanese menu for a game, especially if it's a good game.

Just beat the GBA version last week (not exactly difficult to do) so I'm already thirsting for the DS version. Hopefully it's as replayable, if not moreso, than the first.

Suit and hair stolen from the 80's next at six!

The game looks pretty cool though and I really want to try it out! Hopefully it's one of those "cheaper" titles though as $40-45 seems a tad to high for my tastes.

I'm not even surprised any more by the insanity that comes from Japan...this game looks insanely fun. Too bad I don't have a DS.
