Where is F-Zero? I really miss F-Zero.
F-Zero.
Considering how well GX holds up today visually, I can only imagine how incredible a new HD F-Zero would look on the WiiU. I'm a WiiU skeptic, but if HD F-Zero becomes a thing, I'm in.
@SoundsLike Sometimes race on a pipe! And the cars are all designed more interesting. Wipeout is a bit of a flashing, bumpy migraine with migraine music. F-Zero FTW!!!
That aside I am likewise somewhat disturbed by some of the hardware failings you mentioned. top on the list being that those loading times sound flat out unacceptable. Something like you said would have been expected when using a UMD.
Tangent: The whole shift to digital/cart seems to be greatly lackluster. They seem to be failing where they should shine. Power consumption and load time being the key selling points for the consumer and they manage to sport terrible battery life and load times that seem to be "on par" with UMD ~.~ its just disappointing as all hell.
The one thing I was mostly concerned about that I didn't seem to read anything about or perhaps I just missed, hinges on this game having an online pass. Which I have heard was a serious possibility.
Ive played alot of this game on the Vita, and I totally agree with your score.
It's pretty much the same as it's ps3 counterpart, although I wished that they had fixed the controls and made them tighter, obviously, the controls are 'floaty' since you're racing hover-cars, but with some tweaking, this game could be as good or better than mario kart, with some tighter controls... Yeah, I know it's almost a different genre, but Sony needs to give me a reason to get this, and being so similar to the game I got for free with the welcome back program, that's not going to happen.
Double Fine would have too had they not f's up with Brutal Legend! (I am very pleased for Double Fine btw, I love that whole raising money thing, brilliant).
You people make me so mad. The two games are NOTHING alike. Just because they are futuristic racers doesn't mean they are the same whatsoever. WipEout is all about air breaks, and power ups along with great presentation. Fzero is actually nothing like it.
Wait, so the cartridge based games have horrible load times as well and it's on a game by game basis?
Fuck
I disagree. I think they are very similar with some differences. Like any game in any genre that is the same.
F-Zero and WipeOut are really different mechanically. despite the visuals you feel like you're playing different games. One a fast, physical, twitch racer; the other weird manipulation of the air and gravity.
Both awesome.
I'm definitely picking up this game. I've been a fan since the first, so it's a no brainer for me. I will also pick up a new F-Zero if Nintendo ever decides to revive the series.
i kinda wish developers should have delayed the game to work on it.
maybe a patch or update???
amazing game though :P
Maybe wipeout isnt that popular in America like it is in Europe especially with older PS1 gamers
I remember when the devs were prototyping the original in UK House & Trance venues.
I would love to play a new rollcage or even better the racing from the wipeout 2048 intro
