Anyway, what's with THQ and these downloadable cash-ins? I love THQ, but that atrocious little Red Faction car game has left a bad taste in my mouth.
It will never stop amazing me that games which are distributed entirely over the internet assume that people won't want to use those same internet connections for gameplay.
If you are making a game with co-op as a huge selling point and can't be bothered to write netcode for it (let alone GOOD netcode), don't bother making the game, either.
It's a $10 that exceeded my expectations and I play Dawn of War 2
I don't understand this choice nor can I fathom the logic behind it. That being said, I'm a big 'ol 40K nerd so I'll grab this eventually, probably just discounted. Thanks for the review.
My wife and I try to play as many games as possible together, and I love being able to buy one copy of Kill Team, as opposed to say, the two copies of Dead Rising: Case West that we bought for each of our 360s, just to be able to play together.
"How did no one know there was no online co-op?"
Well, too be fair, YOU didn't know, either. Until you did.
"Call me weird, but I'd actually prefer couch coop only over online coop only."
When I have a buddy over, I couldn't agree more! But my wife doesn't game, and my brother-in-law is only good for beat 'em ups, so online is sadly the only option I have most of the time.
Solution? Implement both!
Oh I agree both should be implemented!
But that would mean big developers would have to actually give a shit about us - in the case of THQ, I seriously doubt it :D
Frankly I am glad they left out online and gave me a cheaper game. I have real, live people that game with me, so no problems there.
Like a big purple potion from Diablo II, whenever I'm having a bad day, your comments rejuvinate my soul.
@Sir Sterling: My point was that the demo gave the full 'feature list' to attract sales, that's where you pit all your bullet/selling points and I didn't see Online Co-Op being one of them. How long has the demo been out? I agree with you that in the year 2011, Online features shouldn't be a forgone conclusion, but with my personal experience with this particular game, it was never something that I was confused or 'up in the air' about. Sad, really, as it might have pushed me to get it, had it included online co-op.
LMFAO @ Occams electric toothbrush
Nice Diablo 2 reference @ Mr. Andy Dixon.
Whether we knew or not isn't the issue, though. The fact is, its absence is a notable negative.
