Just because you're too poor to buy games because you live in a council house and your sister works us a hooker, you think you'll diss everything because you're too ashamed to look at yourself in the mirror?
I though so. If you're going to diss a much-loved series without giving a valid argument as to WHY "nobody cares about it anymore", then you can expect responses like this.
If you're gonna insult a series that loads of people love, then prepare to be insulted the fuck out of, you adopted piece of shit.
F.Y.I. the creators of this game where thinking of porting this over to the PS Vita,
"the titles being released are appealing, and user impressions are good, so I am very interested in it, not just as a developer but as a user as well. Personally, I'd love to work on a KOF title for PS Vita if the opportunity arises."

The PS Vita has quite a few fighting games already. UMVC3, SFxT and BlazBlue (to name a few) will be at launch or just a couple of days ahead of launch.
lets not forget those two games are pretty much 40 dollar dlc with patches and what not that they were originally 60 bucks when they first came out but yeah
i did enjoy the review gonna pick up my copy when i get my ps3
Its just a gorgeous game, and when I get around to it, I'm going to buy it, i have some kmart monies I need to unload.
Awesome review though. Surprised it got this high of a score. This is probably the only fighter I've ever spent an entire day straight playing.
As it stands, I think I'm waiting for Skullgirls, then I'll just grind for weeks in the training mode seeing as it's super in-depth and basically teaches newbies how to play. Then I'll double back and pick up KoF XIII and probably the new BlazBlue as well. Oh and the Persona 4 fighting game, that looks sexy. Hopefully I can actually improve somewhat...
Awesome review, Holmes! I really liked the bit about gender. The issue of equality/sexualisation/objectification comes up quite a lot in this industry, but fighting games especially, so I really enjoyed your perspective.
(I need to stop posting such stupid long comments.)
Cool review and you spent a bit too much on bishies for my tastes, but I'm glad it came out positive. ALSO, more games need customization options like this. It's simple and it adds so much more to the game.
But can't they just move away from the anime look, I mean it's just not looking as glamourous as other fighting games like the Soul Calibur.
I don't see it happening any time soon.
One of the things I really miss though, are the pre-battle sprite animated intros. Those added a connection between characters, that was more entertaining than the overlaid text the game gives us in the arcade and story modes. The story mode is nice to play as you don't have to fight as many battles like in BlazBlue to complete a storyline, at most you have three battles, but some teams have four battles before they're done with the story.
Arcade mode provides the longer battle experience, and the trial mode is brutal if you don't have good execution, but the trial mode has something I like that the Street Fighter/MvC 3 games don't have, and that is a demonstration mode. The demonstration makes KoF 13's trial mode much better.
KoF XIII is awesome, and for those of us who got the game early, we also got a 4-disc OST which is awesome.
Point 2: The sprite characters, attack animations and backgrounds are boring and even ugly compared to other sprite based fighters like Blazblue. The background art in KoFXIII in particular is drab and extremely boring.
ROFL what a dumbass.
definitely one of the best fighting games this generation along with Blazblue, Tekken Tag 2 and Virtua Fighter 5 FS.
KING. IS. IN. THIS. GAME.
Sigh, I wish SNK did another crossover with Capcom and both her and Dudley were included. That would be the most awesome duo ever.
DasPooch just hates everything in case you haven't noticed.
Though I have to agree with him that this series really doesn't have that big of a following. Especially after the debacle that was XII. Doesn't mean the series is BAD, but I personally never found much of a reason to invest any real time into it until this iteration piqued my interest.
I honestly feel like XII was just an attempt for the dev team to bring in a few bucks while they finished the REAL game that we see here.
Looks pretty fun and I'm right on the cusp of buying it, if only to have a decent fighter to learn until SC5 and TTT2 (and the SF4 rebalancing) come out next year.
