I mean follow me, set me free, and together we will escape from the... Scores lower than 10. Right? RIIIIIIIGGGGHHHT!??!?!?
That song was the main reason I loved the final story boss so much.
I'd have to ask a few things.
1) Are the Big the Cat Cameos from the DC version in there?
2) Does this have the same problem the Gamecube version had with audio from cutscenes being kinda out of sync, interupting other sounds occasionally?
And, 3) WHERE BE STEAM VERSION
Eggman levels as a shooter is really damn fun too but Tails levels were fucking shit
Knuckles/Rouge levels are boring but harmless and my god, the hours I spentt raising my chao back then. I'll get this game one day, that was a great review.
Hey Sega, what about a Wii U version with 3DS connectivity for Chao raising on the go ?
Nah, I'm just gonna creep.
Down in Pumpkin Hill I gots to find my lost piece.
I know that it's here.
I sense it in my feet.
The great emerald's power allows me to feel.
I can't see a thing but it;'s around somewhere.
I gotta hold my head.
I have no fear.
It probably seems crazy (Crazy!) a graveyeard theory.
A ghost tried to approach me?
He got leery.
Asked him a question and he vanished in a second.
I'm walking through valleys, flyin pumpkins in the alley.
Didn't seem happy, but they sure tried to nab me.
Had to back em up with the fist metal crack-up.
I hear one of em say, "you're a chicken, don't be scared!"
It had to be the wind, cause nobody wasn't there.
I searched and I searched as I climed up the wall.
And then I started to fly,
I went it DEEEEEEEPPPER.
This is what I think of your review.
Also, I think I'm the only person on the planet who absolutely hated the Chao Garden. Because I'm a horrible human being.
@Fugly Duckling - Thanks, those levels are really bad. I actually originally had an entire paragraph dedicated to how bad they are, but removed it to go over other things more.
@Ktroys - 1) YES! Big the Cat cameos are in. I think I managed to look about 80% of the time just from memory.
2) Some of the voice samples do overlap in certain cutscenes, but that kind of falls in line with the rest of the cutscene quality. They're kind of a mess.
3) Soon? Maybe?
1. Yeah, Big has been added back into the levels.
2. Yeah, the awkward lip-sync and interrupting dialogue is still in the cut-scenes.
3. They've given an ETA for the PC version as "within the coming months".
Unless I can overcome my OCD-ness, I'm going to have to pass on this one (still have fun playing Sonic's levels, though).
I also think that there were some good boss fights in there, especially the later ones. I have great memories of fighting the Prototype boss as Shadow and the final boss of the game overall. Both the Adventure games have pretty awesome end bosses. I have good memories of those.
Other criticisms make perfect sense to me though. Occasionally I go back to the game and it really hasn't aged well. I still love it though. But I won't be buying this. I have it on GC and paying again for a game that just doesn't stand up nowadays for what is essentially a slightly higher resolution texture pack and widescreen that randomly switches to 4:3 every so often.
Similarly to that widescreen issue, I got the DMC HD Collection in the post today, and I'm finding the same thing. It's weird, there also doesn't seem to be any distinction between when it is and isn't used. I guess that's just one of the things you get playing a game that was never supposed to be played on machines a decade in the future.
@orniletter
I don't even have a 3DS and I'd still be all over that. It worked incredibly well with Battle and the GBA.
@Syn
I was actually incredibly underwhelmed with Sonic Generations. I finished the game in like an hour and a half, and the Super Sonic fight at the end was the worst of any I've ever done.
Fingers crossed :D !!!
There was actually a rumor suggesting Sega wants to port their XBLA and PSN games to the eShop ( http://mynintendonews.com/2012/08/20/sega-bringing-numerous-psn-xbla-games-to-wii-u-eshop/ )
I hope they put some extra effort into this one ^^
lol
Compared to what exactly? I guess I'm one of the few who enjoyed the running and shooting stages while tolerating the treasure hunting ones. Still loads better than the shit we saw Sega releasing after this gem.
I shuddered when I was reminded of the Knuckles/Rouge levels....those levels pushed me to the edge of sanity.
Nothing on the original Sonic games or Colours.
