$150 doesn't seem so high for a high quality mid tower case, to be honest.
My best advice to any advid PC enthusiest - shop around.

Let me explain: If you're going to buy a Lian Li case, you are (or should be) expecting to use it for the coming 10 years or thereabouts. Tech doesn't wait up, but Lian Li continues to support older designs with updated add-on components so as to keep them current. So if you're going to buy one, make sure it's one you like, and don't be afraid to spend, just make sure you can tolerate its appearance for the coming decade. (this is part of the reason for their "simple" designs, styles change) They are "worth it" if you invest in the right one. In this case however I'd agree with you, most people end up tiring of those blue lights on their case, as well this doesn't have the bevy of features I'd want in a case I planned on using for the coming 10 years.
If you were sure you were going to be PC gaming in 10 years, and knew for certain that there would be repeated use for an excellent computer case investing in a Lian Li case isn't the worst idea in the world. But if you suspect you're going to want to replace that case someday in the coming few years (as I would with the one you're showing here) then you may be better served by buying something else, usually something less expensive.
Buying a computer case of good quality is a very good investment to make, and Lian Li is one of the better brands out there.
* sorry for the third post for correction. ;p
I am the same. I spent my money on the inside of my PC and worked within a budget and bought my tower on sale to fit that budget. I don't go out of my way for fancy expensive bread, I want the fancy meat and cheese!
@Jordan Devore: Personally speaking, they're both components to which I do not want to sacrifice quality too much. The case mainly because of the reasons Horseflesh mentioned, and the power supply for obvious stability and efficiency reasons. So usually with a completely new build, the power supply + case budget alone is about $250-$300.
That said, a good PSU and case can (and should) last you through multiple builds, so that's also part of the reason I just don't want to make too many concessions regarding these parts.
Though this one oddly reminds me of the old antec p80 case I had years ago. Probably just the front side vents.
Still might be the best case i've used yet. Though i'll admit the last 20$ tool-less case with a PSU in it was the best value for a case.
Were they more frequently a bit cheaper I might've gotten one, but I'm pretty happy with my CM 690 II, as it's the most minimal design Cooler Master seems to make.
I dubbed it "the monolith!"
I agree with horseflesh and the "it can be worth it" crowd. A good case is an investment.
My current case is an old Antec full tower. It's not the prettiest or best ventilated case, but it's a TANK and it's easy to work in. It's 10 years old and I'm on my 4th build in it. I think it was $200. Totally worth it.

Thanks for reading :P It's because you feel the subconscious need to build your own PC :D
Wow that case sure takes me back. I remember really wanting of those but couldn't due to financial restraints. Ahh, the early 2000's where gaming took it's first massive leap into bringing you the visuals we see today. Seriously, late 90's, early 00's was such an interesting time to be a gamer IMO.
I loooooove having a full tower. It's just physically easier to work in than a little case and gives you more room to add drives, cards, etc. later on. It also gives you room to shift things around, leave ventilation space between hard drives etc.
For example, my HD6870 was a bit long. It fit, but to give it some breathing room I swapped the lower hard drive cage out with another fan. Then I moved those two hard drives into an enclosure in the two unused 5.25" bays. I wouldn't have so many options in a smaller case.
aluminium is also a bit less durable than steel although still very durable.
Lian-Li is no frills, all aluminium, simple and efficient chic.
