The reason those ultra-high definitions are glossed over (at best) is because they are basically indistinguishable to the human eye at the sizes they are being displayed.
Until you get to about 40 inches (screen size) it's near impossible to tell the difference between 720p and 1080p. Still higher resolutions are basically completely unnecessary, ESPECIALLY at standard 20-25 inch PC monitor sizes.
And with your 16xAA, there's even LESS reason to speak of ultra high resolutions since once you hit anywhere near that point, the only thing being improved is visible jaggies, which are already being taken care of by your GPU.
Anyways, picking this up soon. Would be fun to replay before GoW3
Chances of that happening are like seeing Sonic the Hedgehog on a Nintendo system.
Er....
That is just inbelievably not true. Whoever told you that was lying and you certainly never experienced it for yourself. There is a MASSIVE clarity and sharpness difference between 720 and 1080... MASSIVE. Seeing it on my 24" monitor is extremely easy, it is smack you in the face obvious.
Not to mention so many big titles are not even 720p, I know Modern Warfare 2 was a pathetic 600p.
"Collection?" Seriously? A collection of TWO games? That's not a collection at all. That's a "pack" at best.
I'll be picking it up this week... I've only briefly played the first two games, so this will be my God of War rebirth! Can't wait!
Also, the demo for the third title is simply stunning!
It might display it in native "1200p" but that doesn't change the fact that the highest resolution for gaming is 1080p (for a number of reasons I wont go into) and your VGU is just upscaling the video to your monitor.
If I'm wrong, then name a game that supports native 1200p HD graphics and link some screen shots. I want my eyes to bleed fro mall the pixels.
Sd was 480i as in interlaced not progressive if you are going to be a know it all twat make sure you get your facts right, And anything above 720p on a screen smaller than 30" is completely pointless as said by a previous poster your eyes cant distinguish still if you want to lie to yourself go ahead, just don't come on here and spout crap.... there are already enough folks on here doing that as it is
you are wrong there mate plenty of pc games have resolutions that go beyond 1080p and have higher resolution textures to support the increase, still doen't change the fact that if you are playing on a sub 30" screen the extra resolution is completley pointless and in some cases may even be counter productive resulting in less frames per second and text that is to small to read without a magnifying glass
let's argue over texture dpi and patch detail! /s
srsly, the game looks awesome, and your arbitrary 5040x1200 resolution is clowntown compared to Ultra HDTV's 7680x4320. (http://www.ultrahdtv.net/) It's like looking at the eyepiece of the hubble telescope with another hubble telescope.
i personally prefer resolutions that are mathematically insignificant and cannot be discerned with the limits of human eyesight. superman thinks it looks sick though and i trust the guy because he shoots lasers.
did i make my point here, or should i keep going?
:D
Either they've toned down the difficulty some, or I've gotten better than the last time I played this on the PS2. I haven't gotten offered Easy mode yet, and made it past the point where I was offered it before without dying. All of my deaths this time have been missed jumps.
