Or Jim gave his opinion, like he always does. That's what a review is. People need to stop acting like reviewes owe them ANYTHING MORE then their opinion on a fucking game. Christ.
Clearly this game deserved AT LEAST a 10.5, I can't find any way to justify this blatant and completely dishonest subtraction of a point from its score.
Opinions aren't bias. Ram it up your ass.
If you don't like the reviews, and honestly believe that Destructoid is simply taking bribes, then go somewhere else. Go find a website whose opinions match yours perfectly, so that you can love that website with all of your little heart.
But, if you wake up tomorrow and realise what an ass you are being, then please apologise. Ultimately, the things that you are saying are hurtful and unkind. That might sound like a naive thing to say on the internet, but you need to think about what you are saying. You have accused Jim, Hamza and basically the whole team of being corrupt. You have accused them of being dishonest in their workplace. Take some responsibility for what you are saying.
Either go or apologise: your choice.

Maybe a simple ?/10 would do the trick? Then again, the number of question marks would just be seen as the equivalent of a star on a four or five point star rating system. _/10 would equal zero out of ten.
To Be Determined/10?
Is it really a lose-lose proposition after all to give MW3 any kind of score at all?
I dont think you understand the sort of shit the whole COD devloping mentality is doing to the industry. Every developing studio that isnt owned by Activision is up in arms, at a game that is fundamentally the same thing that it has been for years is still scoring 9.5. Its forcing developers to think whether to put time and effort into something new, or just rehash what we have done cause we know what works and it makes money.
Gaming industry if it stays on this track will end up like just like the pop music or movie industry, where new ideas are shunned and old things that made money in the past will be reintroduced.
If he genuenally scored this 9.5 than maybe you should of got someone that isnt a COD fanboy to review it... or even not reviewed it for the sake that its no different from MW2 except new maps and a half assed campaign
You know, I would like to think that the Destructoid staff would be more mature to just jump into this thread and start acting like those you are calling out. Taunting "HAHAHAHA" and using sarcasm in an argument really doesn't get the point across you are trying to convey/defend.
Whether the staff will admit it or not, this is, literally, the same exact game as MW2 almost to the letter in terms of Multiplayer and it's getting stellar reviews. Despite the fact that any other game that attempts to reuse elements is immediately scored DOWN.
Destructoid is a site that prides itself on reviewing games based on innovation and purity of experience. The pure and untarnished hypocrisy here is astounding, based on any other Destructoid review where a game or franchise has been scored down based on it's failure to innovate from previous iterations. Yet, somehow, Call Of Duty is exempt from that it seems. I am firmly starting to believe that this site is counting on Jim's reviews as a formulaic source of shock value to garner hits and popularity, and again whether or not the staff is willing to admit this is another story entirely.
In the words of a great character, "Don't piss in my ear and tell me it's raining."
I do hope everyone else enjoys it though.

Those are some good points. I can definitely see that, overall, the continued success of a 'safe' sequel like MW3 could have a negative impact on the gaming business as a whole.
However, like the movie or music industries, I believe that gaming industry has seen and will continue to see true artistic growth through the independent sector. Plus, I think that the way that the MW series has pushed boundaries in terms of controversial story telling (No Russian, for example, can empower other game makers to tell riskier stories.
Also, I think that regardless of the impact the game might have on the industry, Jim has to review the game based upon its own merits and weaknesses, and that's what he has done.
B: The site def. has had major advertising for games that they have torn apart. I don't see how you can accuse anyone of being corrupt/paid off without any evidence. Its just typical nerd rage pouring out of people.
I think the only way Jim could have avoided the whole thing would be to give it a 9.5/10 for the players who enjoy the franchise and a 2/10 for those who don't. 2 meaning it was an actual video game because some of you hate it so much. But, im on Jim's side.
Don't be mad, guys! All this means is that the game that you like better SUCKS and will be cancelled and you will never, ever have fun again.
Quoting the only review on a blog praising a bad game is one thing, but quoting MC users scores to make your opinion on the game is even worse.
You know there's a campaign in the package too, right? some coop and new game modes too? No, so what are you doing here? bashing a game you were never interested in?
I might have to try this if I can some how get it for free. Anyone got any tear gas?
Look, just because Jim liked it doesn't mean that you should too. You can just let it go and, God willing, respectfully disagree with Jim.
Try this:
"COD:MW3 could very well be a good game, but I still don't care much for it for any number of reasons. For example:
1) I'm not a fan of the FPS genre
2) I don't like that it is so similar to MW2
3) I do not support Activision."
See? It's not difficult.
(*will probably rage hard if Skyward Sword gets less than a 9*
...I am a horrible person >.>)
