I'm not gonna lie, the game's flaws are annoying, but I'm enjoying too much of the game to care. Just like Blacklight: Tango Down
Of course at the moment I'm finding some servers to be laggy (no dedicated servers yet, go figure) the movement initially feels quite clunky and the sound effects are somewhat underwhelming (with the exception of a breach charge, though that just sounds like they stole the creeper noise).
The game does however show promise, and with some updates/tweaks and maybe some (please be free) content map packs to accomodate more compressed game types like TDM, this could be brilliant.
Now here's to hoping with any luck the pc version gets some mod tools/support (custom maps!)
"Billed by Atomic as the most realistic of the modes, it puts two teams on opposite ends of large maps and gives no incentive to either to do anything but camp inside buildings."
RPGs and explosives are plentiful in Breach. In fact, most classes start with dynamite (which they don't even teach you how to use, but it's there). The whole point of this mode is to chip away the camping spots (yes, even the sandbags), so that eventually, the other team has nothing. To me, it's akin to a game like Rampart, or even the castle mode of Boom Blox - it's much deeper than your quick assessment seems to suggest.
In fact, the game takes a while to really get going. The Perks and Gadgets really are the whole point of the game, and it takes a few hours to really get into it. Now does a game that takes at least two hours warrant a particular good score? Not necessarily. But I still think there's something deeper here.
Do you really see yourself making time to play this[i/] instead of CoD or Battlefield? [i]Really ?
Nicely done, Dex. I played two games of the trial -- well one if you disregard the first match in which either someone was lag switching, or the netcode was having a seizure. In the second, a guy was just spawn camping my team in the beginning; once I killed that bastard and actually ran around a bit, the feel and lack of feedback of the guns ensured a quick deletion from my hard drive.
The front page needs more Dexter in it's life <3
I'm getting bored of CoD, and my BFBC2 time is being crippled thanks to EAs awful servers. I'm an arcade gamer myself, so at least an hour of this game will suffice.

@Riggs: My immediate reaction to the graphics and the movement was awful. It was revolting. After a few hours of playing it, though, those things don't really matter, at least not to me. There are certainly more egregious offenders than the graphics.
I've seen this guy in comments before.
Dtoid gives community members front-page reviews?! I knew they put up the occasional blog post, but this site just ROCKS.
PROTIP: The Recon class is unlocked by maxing out both the Rifleman and Sniper class.
PROTIP: The variable zoom for the sniper scopes are activated by clicking the right stick in.
PROTIP: If you just want to unlock stuff, play Retrieval with a player cap of 4. Each objective capture nets you 50 XP (ten times that of a kill), or 100 XP if you are using the Bad Ass perk.
PROTIP: The Right Bumper uses explosive charges for the Rifleman or Sniper, but you have to be next to a surface for it to do anything. No throwing.
In all seriousness though, good work and fuck you.
Pretty much all the staff were just community members at some point. Yes, thats why Dtoid rocks <3
Go buy a used copy of Modern Warfare 2 instead if you're seriously thinking of buying this. If you already own it, you're not missing anything.
After about two hours, you get the ability to unlock the first explosive - it's usable by every class, and is a throwable sticky bomb. It's pretty easy to get.
Although I will completely agree it is utterly hidden under the terrible loadout menu on the main screen, as you pointed out. And, you've pointed out a ton of awesome PROTIPS that indicate you spent a lot of time with the game, which is awesome.
@People shocked Dexter's on the front page
Where you been, d00ds? Dex has been headlining for a while now - check out his MAG preview posted ages back.
I was utterly put off by Breach when they showed an interview video on Live and the PR guy/Head of Atomic Games was sort of struggling not to say "this isn't Bad Company meets Rainbow Six". Speaking of which, how does the cover system fare when it goes into 3rd person?
Doesn't really seem like much use for it from what I've seen. Especially if, like you say, most of the cover environments get destroyed within the opening minutes of a match. I always find blind-fire to be a bit useless in these types of games.
The only way to save this game is for them to release a huge patch with not just all the fixes but a ton of free stuff. And yea a 4 is mercy at this point.
I was going to post, but this is pretty much exactly what I was going to say.
