I mean, you could be, but I don't know you that well. Let's talk, maybe the three of us could stroke cocks.
It WILL be on Steam, since it's been Greenlighted. But it's not on there YET. You can download the game from their site, though.

Also there's a semi-frequent crash that happens, which is also frustrating.
I'd give it a 6, myself. It's still worth downloading and playing, but it doesn't live up to the hype at all.
Also all the time playing TF2 and HL2 has made crouch jumping second nature to me by now, so I actually enjoyed being able to use it everywhere. I suppose it's probably odd to other people though.
And the problem that everyone's experiencing with the crouch jumping is the fact that your jumps are much shorter and thus a crouch-jump is required for EVERYTHING, whereas in HL1 you could make some jumps without crouching. That's all.
I'm speaking the truth, my friend. 9mm ammo in the original was 250, shotgun ammo 125, magnum 36, crossbow 50. That's 100 less pistol/rifle ammo, about HALF shotgun and magnum ammo, and a FIFTH crossbow ammo. Also 7 less rifle grenades. And don't get me started on the 3 burst minimum rifle itself.
As for difficulty, I had a much easier time making it through hl1, on normal, than I do on black mesa, on normal, because enemies HURT MORE.
Anyway, it'd be great if people were generally allowed to do remakes like Black Mesa. It's only because it's Valve that they're letting it happen. If it were any of the other big, greedy companies, they'd be slapping cease and desists down and squatting on their IPs, letting them stagnate. I don't think I need to name some of the fan projects that were shutdown despite eclipsing anything those companies made since last century.
It's not about the money that could be made or who originally owns the IP. Once something is marketed and distributed, it doesn't only belong to the owner anymore, it becomes something shared by a large number of people. Those people tend to be the most faithful and wish to express themselves using their ability to do so. What's wrong with that?
Were it not for those people, that something wouldn't be popular or generate cash to begin with. It's a two way thing, and IP holders often forget that. They tend to be unreasonably possessive of their work, and I think that's very selfish, ignorant and arrogant. Where's the appreciation of fan support that got them where they are today?
Japan has a lot of great examples of people allowing their fans to create all sorts of things, and in the end everyone has tons of stuff to enjoy, and we're all happier. I'm strongly under the impression that the Japanese generally have a two-way relationship between creator and consumer. They often influence each other, and share a level of understanding that, as far as I'm aware of, is almost completely absent outside of Japan.
Part of it is culture and society, of course. The West is filled with assholes who come out of the woodwork just to complain that they don't like something, that it's "ruining what they love", or that they have no interest in it. If they don't care, why are they wasting their time and ours just to tell us that? Nobody's forcing them to try those free things. Japan has plenty of stupid problems, but at least many of the people there seem to understand that it still takes time and effort to create and share things for free, and they aren't forced to try it. Why can't everyone else realize something this simple?
When I considered and discussed with friends about well-known Western companies that have a two-way relationship with their customers/consumers, we could only think of Valve. And here we are, with Black Mesa.
By the way, I don't particularly like or love Valve. They're far from perfect. I just respect that they're reasonable and often take their fans and customers into consideration, unlike other faceless money-sucking companies who keep us behind an invisible wall and treat us like rabid mindless dogs with open wallets... like some of the people who commented in this thread.
How cute.
Also: your "pussies playing videogames today" comment says a lot about your character. And your maturity level. Way to go.
Voice acting is great too. It's really well made.
Outside of that, perfect, if slightly unfinished remake. 8 is the right score.
