Rev on Epileptic Gaming: listen to me interrupt and stutter for 60 minutes

I went on Epileptic Gaming today, and made an ass of myself -- but an marginally informative ass, if I may say so. djWHEAT asked me on to discuss Why Video Game Reviews Suck, and I basically repaid him by stuttering and speedtalking and interrupting my way through the entire interview. I had a lot of fun, though, and it appears that they'd like me back sooner or later.

Click here to watch the show and then come back here to comment. What did you think? Did I sound pretentious enough? Did I do well, or do I need to stop using my phone and get a microphone that actually works over Skype? Lemme know.

And actually, if you have any advice on how to optimize a microphone (or a good place to buy a good, cheap one), please lemme know. I can't understand half the stuff I said, and I'm the one who said it.

From here to the eyes and the ears of the 'verse, except for the fact that all the videos have inexplicably disappeared.

Yeah, someone please recommend a microphone. I am also in dire need of a better non-static monster.

First time watching the show, thought you did great. Thought the show was a little too PS3 fanboy-ish for me, though. I think it's better when no one side is picked by a game journalist, but rather that hate/praise is given where due. Lets me know things are impartial - I feel like it's similar to the issue of game ratings inflation.

BTW, I got a great plantronics headset off of overstock about a year ago on the cheap for 20 bucks, normal retail was a hundred. Doubt they still have it, but it doesn't hurt to keep checking the sites you frequent till you find a deal. But plantronics is the way to go if you want a good headset.

Nice job Rev. I enjoyed listening and You made very valid points. I myself look at reviews but never make a decision about a game until I have played it myself.

I actually watched that, and though it was halfway decent. Still lol-ing over the Twilight Princess score. While I don't agree that it sucks, I can appreciate the "stones" it took to say that it did.

Great job rev! It's not EG if there isn't some sony love in there, and it's also not EG if Ron isn't right up there debunking it!

Fun is such a hard thing to quantify...meaning that to me reviews will always have to be taken with a grain of salt. I've for the most part stopped reading reviews anyway because they ruin to much of the game for me...i'll take a look at a couple scores to see the general consensus but that's about it.

I could have swore that switch worked, that and I was counting on Dtoid to have my back with an edit button to save myself from looking like an ass. Now if there is an edit button and I just missed it i'll have to actually kill myself.

Dock my internet status another 50 points, I think this puts me right under that Dax guy.

loved the articles and this video. congrats, are some really intelligent thoughts.
I think game ratings could make more explicit what is tecnical rating (like programming, sound, textures, etc) and what is arbitrary rating (fun!)... of course, it would make game reviewing MUCH more bureaucratic (aka BORING) and would not solve the problem, but is something that occured me... ok, nevermind about that =(
