Keep up the great work!
Mine was a PS1 motion controller I won in a competition, I'll see if I can get a picture of it. Like the powerglove it just doesn't work. I have never seen or heard of anyone else with it. Have you heard of it?
>_>
oh yeah and the gameboy advance music player was a f'in piece of crap..
Also: NES Zapper vs. Wii Zapper.
It is stupid enough to talk about again.
There was more than 1 occasion when I'd see people leaving a store with the massive Steel Battalion box, and thought "I could take him". Sure they probably could have clobbered me with the thing, but new it was $150 (IIRC) so I doubt they would have been swinging it around; it was definitely a risk I would have taken.
What peripheral made you think "why didn't someone think of this sooner"?
Have you ever been embarrassed to have owned a particular peripheral?
Here's a link to the title screen for B-17 Bomber

Chad could also use it to communicate with Dolphins!
Question:
Favorite peripheral included with a game (IE: Pokemon Pinball rumble pack).
I also had these crazy giant button attachments and magnifying glass thing for my gameboy and thought it was the coolest thing ever.
Steel Batallion was the shit, i mean, the only thing that can step above it is the Gundam Pod arcade units in japan. Which by the way i didnt play, but it was win anyway.
Light Gun is the peripheral that I most miss, because even gun games in the Wii you are not point directly at the target.
Steel Batallion was one of the best experiences of my gaming career. I fucking loved that game. I only made it to level 3 because it was at someone else's house, but man I miss it.
Ok, in case you're confused, there's a function that allows you to put buttons on pictures, and if you press them in the slideshow, you'll get sent to another picture. And I would put arrow stamps on top of those buttons to show wich direction you'll be heading. And if you headed the wrong direction you'd might encounter a monster (wich was my dad with a Scream mask) and loose. (PS: Anyone who disses Gameboy Camera shall taste my fist of thunder)
2. Have you ever felt reluctant of putting a newly released game on the top of your list of favourite games, because the game already there is a dear childhood memory of yours (or various other reasons), even when you know that the game you just recently played is a far more superior title in many aspects?
I thought it was great when I was little (Come on...it's a bazooka...that you fire at the TV!!!), but now I look back on it and it was kind of a piece of crap that didn't really have any good games to go with it.
If you don't want to answer that one: Do you miss the days of really crazy peripherals? And do you think the Wii is bringing it back?
Exactly HOW rad was the Gameboy Printer? I'm thinking it borders on amazingly rad and completely insanely rad!
What is the controller you hate the most?
Have you ever messed with the fishing rod controllers?
How many absolutely retarded looking Gameboy peripherals can you name? I totally had the giant magnifier and worm light that my gramma had gotten me when I was a kid.
My prize peripheral, the special Ocarina Of Time edition Game Boy Camera.
Let's give it up for the GAME GENIE. Oh my God that was the most amazing thing when it came out. The possibilities blew my mind as a kid. I never owned one until much later but I had some fun borrowing it from friends. I also have a fond memory of renting the Super Nintendo version from Blockbuster and using it on Super Mario World, with codes to float around via the jump button and infinite star power.
Of course, this meant I couldn't beat Bowser, as I was invincible and couldn't hop on and stun the Mechakoopas without killing them. This was the first time I'd reached him as well, so I was incredibly confused as to how to beat him. Still, Game Genie is seriously the best thing ever.
This is the Sega Activator. I never saw it in action beyond a promo screenshot way back when, but I remember it was promoted along with Eternal Champions.
That thing had an LCD screen, it did not include all of the buttons and lie the power glove you couldn't move around properly. It also had some strange dials as shown in the fourth image.
Just wanted to show off a bit of my saturn peripherals: Twinsticks, Mission Stick, 6player multitap for 10player bomberman, Netlink w/ SaturnFan Panzer Dragoon Zwei sticker, sega saturn mouse.
For the Pokemon color gameboy, attached is the DanceDanceRevolution pad and DDR game.
Now for the question. What retro peripheral would you like to be remade again to work with current generation games?
I have one of these. It takes a separate 9-volt battery and it does its relatively simple job quite well. Kind of a shame it doesn't fit on the Game Boy Color or Pocket as the speakers are much weaker on those models and they could really benefit from it. It plugs on but doesn't snap onto the thinner models like the old brick for which it was molded.
Super Game Boy is another one that blew my mind when it came out. Another one I never committed to getting until much later (and cheaper.) The Game Boy Player eclipses it in most ways, but it has a few unique features that make it worthwhile. Most Game Boy games that came out after it have a unique border available, as well as special color palettes that are available only on the Super Game Boy and aren't recognized by the Game Boy Color or GBA. It's also better than the Game Boy Player for use with the Game Boy Camera because of the vertical cartridge orientation.
But speaking of the Game Boy Player, I love how certain GBA games have rumble for the Gamecube controller when used in the GBP. Mario & Luigi is the first one I played that did that.
Was the fact the the super scope hurt your shoulder like a real bazooka on purpose?
What kind of light did you use for you gameboy? Worm light or overhead
Did you ever use the gameboy magnifier?
Was the super gameboy the best peripheral ever?
What was you favorite super gameboy border?
Did you ever use the n64 transfer pak, that made pokemon stadium all the greater
So, my question is: Did any of you ever have the displeasure of owning this pile of shit? (See below for picture of said pile of shit)
(The Aura Interactor for SNES and Genesis)
If so, did it ever work correctly for any of you?
The commercials of the time used to make it out to be a giant rumble pack. All it did in actuality was aplify certain loud beats in the music and sound effects to the point where it made the vest rumble. Pure genius, right?
But there is an upside to the Interactor: It wasn't the SEGA Activator.
