Thanksgiving is just about here, and with it comes another Retrofeast; a time to gather around the virtual dinnertable and give thanks for all the old-school blessings that have been bestowed upon us over the last year.
This will be a list-heavy episode, a fact that will likely have Chad squealing with the unhindered glee of a thousand schoolgirls throughout most of the show, so you've got that to look forward to. Certainly you must be thankful for something that's happened in gaming since last year. Hit the jump and tell us, and leave a question or two while you're at it.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Also, free videogames.
<3 RFGO!
Who made the Thanksgiving gaming picture?
Has Topher played Gradius Rebirth wiiware game?
Anyways, questtion time!
If you could take a video game character and swap his/her gender, who would it be and why? And what do you think that character would be like as the opposite sex?
Also will Chad one day make a list of the top ten 'top ten' lists? :D
it had to be done :)
I am thankful for all the fun games that have been released this year.
I'm thankful that someone released some old school goodness called Mega Man 9.
I'm also very thankful for the Mother 3 translation. That would have to be my top one I think. Along with Mega Man 9. What about the fact that over the past few months Nintendo seems to be releasing good games on the virtual console?
Also, it seems that developers are starting to realize that retro gaming is a real market and we're seeing old franchises resurrected as well as retro style games being make like Mega Man 9 and Bionic Commando Rearmed. Very exciting time to be a retro gamer.
Oh! And I bought an NES this year for 10 dollars which is another one.
Also thankful for Chrono Trigger on DS which I just picked up a mere hour ago. A time traveling RPG is perfect for an obsessed Doctor Who fan like me.
What game are you all most thankful for seeing re-released over the years? (Not including Chrono Trigger)
I am thankful for my mom buying me a gameboy since it is what got me into games in the first place.
Here's my question: sweet potatoes. Marshmallows or no?

I am thankful for my gaming sons...
I am also thankful that with the pronunciation guides, Chad still can't say digtastik :)
And not-emulators, allowing me to not-play all the games I missed all those years ago :)
I love you all. :)
"...not been left behind..."
Damn my eyesight!
Also, I'm thankful for a family that plays games with me(on Thanksgiving!) even if I am allergic to turkey....:(
DO IT.
Uhm....
A few other things. My dreamcast. Self-aware unicycles that like to race. Frogs who just want to cross the street, for getting me into gaming.
And of course, I'm thankful for Retroforce for sharing this oldschool goodness.
I am thankful that Studio Ghibli is making a DS game.
Question: What system are you getting SF2THDR for? XBL has a bigger communty, but PS3 has a superior d-pad. And no, I don't have money for a stick right now.
How much money would you pay for a downloadable version of Shenmue 1&2 with upscaled HD graphics?
And a few list requests:
- What are your top 5 favorite RetroforceGO! shows yet?
- What are your favorite turkeys in videogames?
So the Wii is officially retro now? Or else I don't understand the meaning of that picture.
So thank you, all my new friends, for being awesome and being my outlet for all this gaming love I have inside while I struggle on in my graduate studies!
I LOVE YOU ALL!
But anyways, How are you Chad?
I'm also very thankful for this podcast. It is amazing, the best podcast ever created and I voted for you in ScrewAttacks 1337 awards.
I've also notived that ever since I've started listening to this podcast I tend to talk in one of three ways. Either I talk really fast and get excited like Chad, pause all the time like Topher or rant like Anthony...wait, is that something to be thankful for? XD
Also, I'm thankful for extendable arms:
Well...... Ok, I AM thankful for you guys and Retroforce because it gives me something awesome to listen to at night when I can't sleep. (Which tends to be every night.) =)
Also, Topher: Is Last Hope any good? It looks amazing, but I need some expert advice before I drop 30-40 big ones on it.
Also, I'm thankful for extendable arms:
Which one do you guys want to play the most?

One of the reason retro games are so amazing are because the series are still alive to today (Mario Galaxy, Twilight Princess). Do you think any modern games can do that because I don't see Gears of War coming out with a game years later. Can modern games really continue to survive and live on in our hearts like retro ones your thoughts?
Chad what really is "the greatest/best/most amazing thing ever" it seems like everything is?
I fear RPGs are a dying genre sure there was Lost Odyssey but that was really the good one in in past few years. What do you think RPGs need to do to make an amazing come back?
That is all.
I'm thankful for Chad's Rip Taylor impression, for Stella always knowing how to pronounce my name, and for finally discovering RetroforceGO! in June. Best podcast ever.
Dyson, where are youuuuuu...?
I am thankful for the back-catalogue of retro games and the new friends I've gained here that I can talk about them with. <3

Yes, half of me is is pissed that I missed last week's pre-show comment thread.
Also, all hail Jim Sterling, the L. Ron Hubbard of Sonicology.
I'm thankful that my puppy doesn't eat my vidjagame controllers. And that my puppy is cute.
HERE SHE IS:
Her name's Astrid.
I'm thankful for No More Heroes, dangit!
Also Castle Crashers.
Also Braid.
All had retro sensibilities in their own special way.
And Mega Man 9, of course.
AND RETROFORCEGO!
The meat from Bonk's Revenge looks pretty tasty.
Also, I'm thankful for my DS. Not only do I get the new and awesome stuff (The World Ends With You can have my babies), but it also gives me an opportunity to play the games that I missed in my unfortunate youth. Most notably on that list are Final Fantasy IV and Chrono Trigger.
Also also, RetroforceGO's awesomeness in audio form, which saves me from the monotony of a terrible high school minimum wage job!

The fact that you haven't been able to play great games like these is one of the reasons why arcade pinball is dying, ladies and gentlemen. Instead, people are buying pinball games for the home.
The next pinball games to be released by STERN are going to be "CSI" and "24". I hope my arcade gets at least one of them.
