You pretty much can't go wrong with ninjas. Be they mystical or otherwise, ninjas are just about always awesome, which is good, because this week's show is all about Goemon; from the arcade all the way to the DS.
Also awesome is our special guest host, Aiya, who will be joining us tonight. Hit the comments with your questions, and we'll be back tomorrow with talk of noble thieves and giant robots.

Talk about how this may just be one of the greatest games ever made
Also talk about how evil Konami is for not releasing more Geomon games outside of Japan
you guys better know everything about Goemon or I might have to tell you off, because I am obsessed with these games
yes they are better than Halo, Mario, Zelda, Gears Of War, and every game ever made
1) Where does Aiya leach her Awesomium from and where does Chad leach his Amazium from (Topher+Slurpihium / Colette+Chocobonium / Dyson+...Sloshballnium? / etc.)? Is there some special crevice in the Earth where you all mine the elements that are unknown to the periodic table and general populus?
2) Do any of you consider the arcade game, "Mr. Goemon" as an actual part of the series? I'm wondering about your oppinions, as I've spoken with a few people that don't due to the portrayal of Goemon as an adult in a classic Japanese art style, rather than his chibi, more playful-esque incarnation.
I personally can't get enough of first one that came out on the SNES. It is truly one of the greatest games to play co-op on that system.
I guess:
If there were to be a new entry into the series, how woudl you really want it to go down? Full SNES/N64 throwback, shiny new 3D, or superglossy Odin-Sphere like 2D "sprites"?
P.S. Anyone going to Otakon? Once more I hope to rekindle my long lost love of anime.
I have been waiting for this show. Of course, I have questions:
1.) How many Goemon games have each of you played through? What are your general thoughts on all of them?
2.) How do you feel about the series' shift towards a more "futuristic" Goemon over the past few years, up until the DS title in 2006? Did you like that twist on the series, or are you glad it's gone back to its roots?
3.) Which console do you think would work best with a Goemon title this generation: Wii, PS3 or 360? You can only select one for purposes of this question.
4.) What's your favorite boss battle of the Goemon series? Why?
5.) Why do you think the Goemon series gets so little attention here in the US? Is it because Konami simply doesn't bring the games over? Or is it because the series just wouldn't have the appeal it does in Japan?
6.) What did you think of the Goemon anime series? I assume you've all seen it, right? ... Right?
7.) Which of the four major Goemon characters is your favorite: Goemon, Ebisumaru, Yae or Sasuke? Why?
8.) What can we as Goemon fans do to help make the series more popular AND convince Konami to bring the Goemon series to North America?
Also, I love all of you. RFGO 4 life!

I love Goemon! SNES ones are my favorite. I love 3 so much I've got an import of it. 2 player open Zelda like world, with 2D side-scrolling dungeons. Mystical Ninja is amazing because it's English and has awesome box-art though.
Questions:
1) If you were a ninja, would you use a party whistle, a hola-hoop, or a gymnastic ribbon as a weapon?
2) If Retroforce Go was turned into Goemon characters, who would become who?
Also, We need a moment of silence for Working Designs. A PS2 Goemon came out in Japan, and was being brought over to North America by Working Designs. But because Working Designs closed, it never came out. It was a pretty awesome game too, hard to play if you don't know Japanese though.
I gots questions:
1st) All of NihonTiger90s questions.
2nd)How many games in the series have you guys imported(if any, and not including the ones released outside of Japan)?
3rd)Which would you walk into combat with, a pipe(any version Goemon uses except the chain pipe), or a cardboard box?
4th)What do you guys think is the best aspect about the games?
5th)Most japanese game much?
Me talking from here down:
I'm sad to say i've only played through Mystical Ninja 64(through rental, still trying to track down a copy) and Goemons Great adventure(own it, YAY!), and the SNES Mystical Ninja(VC, YAY!).
Also off topic if did any of you try the final fantasy IV remake yet if so what do you think of it?

My first exposure to Goemon was the SNES game, but I didn't really get into the series until I became utterly obsessed with the N64 game (which was the first time America actually got a true Goemon game, in my opinion, because it retained all of its humor and references). My question is, if any of you guys first played it as an uninformed American as I did, do you feel that the humor of Goemon is somehow able to transcend cultures, or was it just entirely lost on you at the time? I knew nothing of Japanese culture when I first played the game, but I felt that I still fully enjoyed the wackiness that was going on regardless. Which I think is kind of strange given the game's dependence on Japanese influence, so I'm wondering if anyone else experienced the same thing.
I love the series though, and the quirky feudal Japanese animeish feel of the game. I would love the chance to play the other Goemon games legally and in English(cuz I cant speak Japanese...yet...). I love Goemons Great Adventure though, and constantly go back to play it.
So I'll post the token random item: pancakes.
Now that Megaman 9 is officially an 8-Bit masterpiece in the making, are there any other games you would like to see given the 8-Bit revival treatment?
Also Dyson: Did you ever play Guardian Legend like I suggested during the retroforceFaux period?
About E3 last week, I was out but I wanted to ask you: What are your favorite E3 memories from years passed?
Hmmm... probably should've posted that as a response to the show last week instead of here, since this isn't really a question. :p
My question: Have any of you played the import Goemon DS? It's a beautiful game featuring a Japanese ink painting look and it's a crime against humanity that Konami denies this game to us.
Question: Are there any gameplay elements that retro games had that you think are missing in today's games (besides simplicity and difficulty)?

I love love love love love Mystical Ninja on SNES!
